This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a very popular manga, and it consistently includes references to Ryomen Sukuna, the powerful King of Curses. From the name of the ship bringing characters to Earth to comparisons of villains to Sukuna’s strength, it’s clear the author, Gege Akutami, intends to keep Sukuna a central figure in the story.
Given the number of characters from the original series showing up in the Jujutsu Kaisen sequel, many fans are wondering if Ryomen Sukuna could make a comeback in the new installment. Seeing familiar faces like Mahito, Nobara, Yuji, and Ui Ui has people speculating about who else might appear. Although Sukuna was defeated by Yuji Itadori, one of his fingers remains, leaving the door open for his possible return.
Ryomen Sukuna Does Not Appear in JJK Modulo
There’s No Sign of Sukuna So Far

- Sukuna’s replacement is Dabura when it comes to threat.
Even though the new story, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, has published 15 chapters, fans haven’t seen Ryomen Sukuna yet, despite many requests for his return. The story seems to be keeping Sukuna’s memory alive by including hints and references to him, which continues to spark discussion about whether he’ll play a role in the future of the Jujutsu world.
With Sukuna gone, a new and equally dangerous threat has appeared: Dabura Karaba. Like Sukuna, Dabura possesses immense power and a devastating cursed technique. While Sukuna’s technique is called Shrine, Dabura’s is so strange and potent that it doesn’t even have a name humans can say. According to Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 15, Dabura’s technique combines his overwhelming killing intent with his physical mass, making it incredibly strong.
Even with Dabura now in the story, fans of JJK Modulo really miss Ryomen Sukuna and his incredible abilities – things no other character could ever pull off. The current fight between Yuka and Dabura is happening where Sukuna used to dominate, which only makes everyone feel his absence even more.
Sukuna’s Last Finger Does Not Guarantee His Return
Sukuna’s Soul Is Destroyed
As Jujutsu Kaisen ended, Sukuna’s final cursed finger remained a point of worry. Yuji Itadori kept it with him, similar to how the Occult Club originally found it. Rather than being destroyed, the finger still exists, almost as if it’s waiting for someone else to consume it and restart the cycle that initially connected Sukuna to Yuji.
But that might not be true. The final finger doesn’t seem strong enough to fully contain Sukuna’s soul, meaning it’s just a broken piece that can’t bring him back to full power. As Yuji pointed out in the latest chapter, that last finger isn’t a danger anymore, effectively ending Sukuna’s threat. Interestingly, Sukuna accepted his loss and decided to pursue a future with Uraume instead of trying to trap Yuji’s soul, unlike Mahito.
Chill. It’s not dangerous anymore. It’s the perfect ward.—Yuji Itadori
While fans are eager to see Ryomen Sukuna return like he did before, it’s probably not going to happen because the remaining piece of him isn’t strong enough. If Sukuna does come back in a potential future installment, the most likely scenario would be through rebirth, something he hinted at before vanishing.
Sukuna Could Return Through Reincarnation
Sukuna Could Come Back Better and Stronger
The idea of characters being reborn isn’t new to Jujutsu Kaisen, and has been part of the story before. Because of this, it’s definitely possible for the author, Gege Akutami, to bring Sukuna back to life through reincarnation in the upcoming JJK Modulo. This could give Sukuna a chance to change for the better, and even experience life from Yuji’s perspective.
Sukuna might not return as we expect; he could be reborn as anyone – even a girl, or someone completely different. It’s possible the author, Gege Akutami, has already hinted at this, and the idea that Yuji is secretly raising Sukuna could be true. Yuji’s offer to house Sukuna again demonstrates his enduring connection to the King of Curses.
