In other words, Megumi was essentially forcing him out, a situation Sukuna didn’t seem to handle well. Desperately, Sukuna tried to hold onto Megumi in order to retaliate, but it was futile. Eventually, Sukuna was forcibly extracted from Megumi’s body, and Yuji managed the impossible task that everyone thought was unachievable.
As a passionate gamer diving into the latest chapter of my favorite manga, I can’t help but feel let down by how things unfolded. The climactic moment didn’t quite live up to the hype, and it seems there were numerous factors contributing to this outcome.

Yuji Looked Down Upon Sukuna As He Disintegrated
In JJK chapter 268, Ryomen Sukuna met his end in an unexpected turn of events. The twist wasn’t shocking due to the inevitability of it happening, but rather how it transpired. After Yuji executed the decisive black flash, Sukuna was left in a pitiful, slimy state. Following his separation from Megumi at Yuji’s hands, Sukuna appeared trembling in fear for the first time. The sight of Yuji standing over him caused an unprecedented sense of fear within him. This scene served as a poignant reminder of the story’s early days, when Sukuna advised Yuji not to admire him.
Currently, Yuji stood over him, and this mirroring effect was quite delightful for the audience. Meanwhile, Sukuna struggled to hold on, understanding that his days were numbered.
Despite his reservations, Yuji refused to abandon Sukuna. At heart, Yuji is a person full of empathy, even towards beings like Sukuna. He understood that curses should not be eliminated but coexisted with, an idea that might seem unwise, but one he chose to follow. In the end, Yuji made every effort to persuade Sukuna to rejoin him and experiment with humanity. However, Sukuna remained faithful to his label as the King of Curses and told Yuji he was commendable for maintaining the charade until the very end. Sukuna advised Yuji not to underestimate him because he is a curse, and ultimately disintegrated.

Concurrently, spectators also witnessed Hakari’s encounter with Uraume during Shinjuku Showdown, but this fight turned out to be a major letdown for everyone involved. In fact, there was hardly any significant interaction between the two combatants. Instead of an exciting exchange, Hakari versus Uraume concluded prematurely when Uraume surrendered and disintegrated into shards of ice after witnessing Sukuna’s fall. The climax of Jujutsu Kaisen’s Shinjuku Showdown Arc left fans with a mix of emotions, despite the pleasant return of Megumi and Nobara. The highly anticipated face-off between Sukuna and Yuji, as well as the other skirmishes within the arc, were generally underwhelming, leaving viewers somewhat dissatisfied.

The Three Main Characters Reunite Once Again
In chapter 268 of JJK, fans caught a peek into the aftermath of the war. Essentially, Megumi regained consciousness, reuniting the trio for the first time in a long spell. Nobara expressed her shock and joy upon seeing Megumi’s return, while Megumi himself seemed stunned by the turn of events.
Fans were privy to two letters penned by Gojo for Nobara and Megumi, each containing vital details about their personal lives. The letter for Nobara disclosed her mother’s location and what she does for a living. As for Megumi, the letter revealed information about his late father, whom he had slain, thus honoring his pledge.
In JJK chapter 236, Gojo’s final words, when he passed away, seemed to align with what had been previously established in the manga. However, it was later disclosed that Gojo intended to write a letter for Shoko to deliver to Megumi, contradicting his earlier actions. Despite this unexpected twist, it made for an emotional scene. Moving forward, attention should now shift towards other potential candidates in Shinjuku, such as Yuta, whose destiny remains uncertain.
