This post contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen.
Summary
- Fans outraged over Gege Akutami’s comments on Gojo’s death reveal in Jujutsu Kaisen.
- New film announced covering Hidden Inventory arc may break records based on fan following.
- Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen to explore Culling Games arc, focusing on Itadori’s fate.
In 2024, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga came to an end, but not everyone was satisfied with how Gege Akutami chose to conclude the tale, as some fans found his unconventional approach quite shocking.
As time passed, I noticed the audience seemed to have moved past the finale, shifting their focus elsewhere. Yet, when Gege Akutami shared in-depth thoughts on the ending during a recent interview, old emotional scars resurfaced among many fans. This revelation sparked anger for understandable reasons, but with the information now public, there’s little they can do to change it.
JJK Fans Are Angry With Gege Akutami
Fervent followers of Jujutsu Kaisen grew enraged following Gege Akutami’s comment on Gojo Satoru’s demise. In a battle that lasted for an extended period, both Gojo and Sukuna displayed immense power, creating a spectacle that left fans in awe. However, the outcome was disappointing to many as Sukuna emerged victorious. The conclusion of this intense fight left fans of Gojo disheartened, as their beloved character met an untimely and gruesome end. Fans argue that Gojo would not have lost to Sukuna, and Gege’s recent statement seems to support this viewpoint.
Infinity exists everywhere. —Gojo Satoru
The writer revealed that Gojo Satoru perished due to an instance of carelessness. Had he maintained vigilance, Sukuna’s fatal strike would never have connected with him. It was perhaps Gege Akutami’s intention to provide a sense of resolution, but instead, it left readers heartbroken. In truth, fans were dismayed to learn that Gojo could have potentially lived if he had only been more watchful.
Before Gege’s recent statements, it was widely believed among Jujutsu Kaisen fans that Sukuna was stronger than Gojo, which is why they thought Gojo lost. However, it has been shown that Gojo could have actually won the fight and was superior to his opponent. Now, Jujutsu Kaisen fans are hoping that the author will stop discussing Gojo’s loss and move on to other topics in the series. Here’s hoping this is the final time Gege brings up Gojo’s defeat.
Jujutsu Kaisen Is One Of The Better Modern Shonen

Regardless of its imperfections, there’s no disputing that Jujutsu Kaisen is a fantastic manga series cherished by millions worldwide. It boasts a robust narrative and an intriguing ensemble of characters. Clearly, Gege Akutami has invested substantial energy in crafting the manga, and it shows.
Although the Jujutsu Kaisen manga has concluded, the anime continues to air. A sneak peek at Season 3 of the anime was unveiled at Jump Festa 2025. Moreover, a new compilation movie focusing on the Hidden Inventory arc is scheduled for release on May 31, 2025. Despite being just a recap film, fans are anticipating it to set unprecedented benchmarks. Some might find this expectation excessive, but given Jujutsu Kaisen’s massive fanbase, such a feat isn’t entirely unrealistic.
The Third Season Of Jujutsu Kaisen Will Be Incredible

There’s a slim chance the show might reveal plans for a third season following the movie premiere. If true, fans would undoubtedly rejoice, as they’ve eagerly anticipated significant news for quite some time now.
Announcement for Jujutsu Kaisen’s third season was made not long after the conclusion of season two. MAPPA’s official account (previously Twitter) confirmed that this upcoming series will delve into the Culling Game arc, a highly anticipated storyline in Jujutsu Kaisen. The arc promises an abundance of intense battles showcasing some truly extraordinary abilities by well-known characters.
Apart from discovering the outcome of Itadori Yuji in the Culling Games saga, fans are eagerly anticipating his fate. With Gojo behind bars, there seems to be no one powerful enough to prevent the higher-ups from eliminating Yuji. In fact, viewers have already witnessed Yuta Okkotsu’s return in season two. This sorcerer mentioned that he intended to eliminate Itadori Yuji. Given Yuta’s high skill level, it seems highly unlikely that Yuji will survive without assistance. The upcoming third season of the anime is expected to reveal this dilemma and many others.
