Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Akutami Just Confirmed Dabura’s Origins

This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga.

I’m completely hooked on Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo! Each chapter is just brimming with fascinating details, not just about Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, but also about these brand new alien characters, the Simurians. It’s so cool to see aliens introduced into the Jujutsu Kaisen universe – they’re a total mystery and really shake things up! We don’t know much about what they can do with Jujutsu, but Gege Akutami is slowly giving us pieces of the puzzle, revealing their motivations and where they even come from. It’s a really exciting development!

Dabura is one of the most mysterious aliens from the Simurian race we’ve seen so far. Fans have often referred to him as the Simurian King, or simply the Alien King, suggesting he’s a powerful and respected leader. Even though he hasn’t appeared often, Dabura has made a strong impression, and hints suggest his ambitions might be much larger than just living peacefully with humans.

Dabura Is a Deskunte in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

Not All Simurians Are the Same

  • Dabura’s physique clearly reflects his Deskunte heritage.
  • The Deskuntes and Rumelians were in conflict because of the Kalyans.

After eight chapters, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has revealed that alien refugees are watching the Jujutsu Sorcerers in Japan, seemingly preparing for either peace or war. While their intentions remain unclear, the story, told through Cross’ point of view, suggests the Simurians are prepared to fight humanity when the moment arrives.

In addition to the ongoing story, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 8 shares the history of Maru and Cross, and clarifies where Dabura comes from. Both Maru and Cross belong to the Rumelian Clan, but Dabura is from the Deskunte Clan, as shown by his unique features: a horizontal third eye and two horns. This contrasts with Rumelians, who have a vertical third eye and no horns.

I’m absolutely fascinated by the history of this world! It turns out the Deskunte, and specifically Dabura, were key players in forcing the Rumelians to shut themselves off from everyone else. It was a brutal decision that caused so much suffering and wasted resources for the Rumelians. The Deskunte actually benefited from this isolation, while the Rumelians were left broken and struggling just to stay alive. What’s really wild is why the Rumelians went along with it – they genuinely believed in these powerful, protective creatures called Kalyans, who apparently only attacked outsiders. It’s a tragic story, but so compelling!

Dabura Is Working With Rumelians Now

Dabura Could Start the Human-Simurian War

The first chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo opens with Dabura acting superior while seated on a throne before Cross and Jabaloma. He’s clearly teamed up with these two figures, but their partnership is shaky given the past conflicts between their clans. This suggests their agreement is temporary and could easily fall apart if their goals no longer align.

Despite his protests, Cross hasn’t given up on finding a way for the Simurians and humans to coexist. Dabura, however, truly believes the Deskunte are superior and sees humanity only as a means to achieve his goals. If the Simurians split again and Dabura pursues his own ambitions, it could lead to another devastating war between the two groups.

One war breaks out, we have Dabura on our side.—Cross

Conflict is inevitable in the world of Jujutsu. Characters like Yuka and Tsurugi might get caught up in a battle between Maru and Cross, who are fighting against Dabura. However, these are just predictions at this point, as the author, Gege Akutami, is slowly revealing more information about the Simurians.

Dabura Could Be the Last Surviving Deskunte

Dabura Is the Ultimate War Weapon

Currently, in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Dabura is the only Deskunte shown who is still active. He appears to be the final member of a powerful clan that once controlled numerous Rumelians, such as Maru, Cross, and Jabaloma.

Dabura is incredibly dangerous – potentially as much or more so than Sukuna, the powerful antagonist from the original series. Cross firmly believes in Dabura’s strength, despite the fact that the new Jujutsu Kaisen story hasn’t yet shown us just how terrifying he truly is in a full battle.
