Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Akutami Reveals The New Strongest Female Sorcerer

This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.

Jujutsu Kaisen is hugely popular as both a manga and anime. Now that the original manga finished in 2024, fans were eager to see what creator Gege Akutami would do next, and a sequel was announced earlier this year. Titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, the sequel is being published in Weekly Shonen Jump and takes place 68 years after the events of the Sukuna Raid. Over that time, the world of sorcery has changed dramatically – most of the original sorcerers are gone, and a new generation has emerged. A standout character in this new generation is Yuka Okkotsu, the granddaughter of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin.

Currently, Yuka Okkotsu is humanity’s best chance against Dabura. She’s quickly become the strongest female sorcerer in the Jujutsu Kaisen world, and if she can overcome this challenge, she has the potential to become the strongest sorcerer of her generation, and possibly even lead the Gojo Clan in the future.

Yuka Okkotsu Is The New Strongest Female Sorcerer

  • Yuka Is The Sister Of Tsurugi Okkotsu
  • Yuka Wields The Ten Shadows Technique

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a continuation of the original Jujutsu Kaisen story, but takes place 68 years later.

Over the past 68 years, many skilled sorcerers have passed away, creating an opportunity for new talents to rise. Yuka Okkotsu is one of these rising stars, and she’s quickly become a popular and impressive character in just a few chapters.

Yuka is a fascinating character who has proven to be both strong and determined. Being Yuta’s granddaughter, she was born with a massive amount of cursed energy, making her naturally gifted at sorcery. However, her talents extend far beyond just that.

That blade is specifically designed to fight cursed spirits – it’s called the Sword of Extermination. It’s coated in positive energy, much like Reverse Cursed Technique. If I were a cursed spirit, it would have destroyed me instantly. But he managed to block my attacks. He can actually see my cursed technique. Impressive! — Ryomen Sukuna Vs Mahoraga, JJK Chapter 118

Rika received a ring from her grandfather, and it’s a powerful and dangerous artifact. Known as the Queen of Curses, whoever wields Rika’s power is a force to be reckoned with.

Yuka didn’t only get her powers from her grandfather’s family. She also inherited the Zenin clan’s abilities through Maki, which gave her Ten Shadows – one of the strongest cursed techniques in Jujutsu Kaisen.

In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 15, it was officially revealed that Yuka now wields the Ten Shadows Technique. Following the apparent death of Megumi, this incredibly powerful ability has been passed down to her, making her a formidable opponent. The latest chapter shows Yuka has already managed to unlock Mahoraga, and currently, no other female sorcerer appears capable of challenging her.

Yuka Could Become JJK’s New Strongest Sorcerer If She Survives

Everyone agrees that Yuka is currently the most powerful female sorcerer. She’s also likely the second strongest human overall. However, Yuji Itadori, who has recently been confirmed as immortal, is definitely stronger than her.

Rika and Ten Shadows are simply on a different level than other sorcerers like Tsurugi. Her recent Binding Vow has made it even harder for anyone to challenge them.

It happened a long time ago, probably during the Edo or Keicho period – I can’t quite remember. Basically, the heads of both families fought each other in public. At that time, the Gojo family was led by someone with the Six Eyes and a powerful, limitless cursed technique, just like me. And the Zenin family was led by a master of the Ten Shadows Technique, similar to you, Megumi. Do you understand what I’m getting at?

Generally, Yuka is more powerful than most Simurians. The only Simurian capable of defeating her is Dabura, who is an extremely dangerous opponent. Yuka is easily surpassing the three most powerful characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo universe.

If Yuka makes it through her fight with Dabura and someone like Yuji is able to cure her brain tumor, she has the potential to become the strongest jujutsu sorcerer. Because of a family connection to the Gojo clan through Michizane Sugawara, she could even become the first woman to lead them.

Jujutsu Kaisen Has Featured A Strong Female Cast In The Past

While Jujutsu Kaisen isn’t known for having particularly strong female characters, it does showcase some impressively powerful women, and that was true even before the introduction of Yuka.

Originally, in Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuki was considered the most powerful female sorcerer. She was the only woman officially recognized as a Special Grade, meaning she possessed immense power. Unfortunately, the author, Gege, had her character tragically killed off as part of Kenjaku’s plan.

Maki was another standout character. As Yuka’s grandmother, she arguably had the most compelling development of any female character in the original Jujutsu Kaisen. Her story involving the Zenin family, and her fight against Sukuna, made her a truly memorable figure.

Yuka Okkotsu is incredibly powerful and could become stronger than anyone else, leaving fans excited to see how her story unfolds in future chapters.

The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is currently being published in Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. It takes place 68 years after the Shinjuku Showdown, and follows Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta and Maki. Chapter 16 is scheduled to be released on December 21, 2025, at midnight in Japan (11:00 AM Eastern Time, 8:00 AM Pacific Time). Fans can read it for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
