This article contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen series and the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga.
The popular manga series Jujutsu Kaisen recently ended, much to the disappointment of fans who felt it still had more story to tell. However, creator Gege Akutami quickly surprised everyone by announcing a sequel. This new story introduces a fresh cast of characters – the grandchildren of Yuta and Maki, named Tsurugi and Yuka Okkotsu. The sequel, titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, has just begun, but Akutami has already revealed a major plot point: one of the main characters won’t survive. In chapter 7, it was revealed that Yuka has a terminal brain tumor and only has six months to live. While her fate appears sealed, there’s still a possibility she might overcome this challenge in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo.
Yuka’s Death Is Already Set Up In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
- Yuka Has A Deadly Tumor
- Her Death Will Be Within 6 Months
Even though Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo only has seven chapters released so far, it’s already given fans a lot to enjoy. In fact, many feel the main story is just beginning, as the latest chapter is starting to build towards major developments.
Chapter 7 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo was arguably the best installment so far, but it also revealed the heartbreaking news that Yuka will die. Yuka, along with Tsurugi and Maru, is being established as the new central trio for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, taking the place of Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi. Although Modulo has only recently begun, fans have quickly become invested in these characters.
The death of Yuka was a surprising turn for many fans of Jujutsu Kaisen. In chapter 7 of JJK Modulo, it’s revealed she has a cancerous brain tumor. Doctors estimate she has only about six months to live, and Yuka seems to have accepted her fate.
Can Yuka Be Saved in JJK Modulo?
Yuka Still Has A Shot at Living
Yuka’s death would be devastating in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, and although things look grim due to her illness, there’s still hope she might survive.
Even with the best human medical care, Yuka might not be able to recover. However, there’s still hope. If humans and aliens were to cooperate, their combined technology could potentially save her. Another possibility is using a process called RCT to heal her brain. Gojo has already demonstrated this by repeatedly destroying and rebuilding his own brain with RCT, suggesting it could also work for Yuka.
Putting everything else aside, there’s a chance this tumor isn’t what doctors think it is. It’s possible it was caused by a cursed technique. Considering Yuka is the granddaughter of Yuta and Maki, someone using curses – or even a cursed spirit – might be targeting her.
Yuka has important goals ahead of her, and like her brother, she’s meant to continue the work started by Yuta Okkotsu. Killing her now would undermine that, but the author hasn’t been shy about eliminating characters in the past. It seems likely Yuka will remain a part of the story for a while, and will probably make it through the current arc, JJK Modulo.
