This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen.
I’ve been watching the return of Gege Akutami’s *Jujutsu Kaisen*, and it’s quickly becoming a top manga again! The new sequel series, *Modulo*, is a big reason why. Fans are really enjoying it, and I think it’s only going to improve as it goes on. Gege has already shared some interesting details about the story, and even given us updates on familiar faces like Maki Zenin and Yuta Okkotsu, which everyone is thrilled about.
Fans are also eager for updates on Yuji Itadori, the main character from the previous series. Though he hasn’t appeared in the current manga yet, it’s clear he won’t be forgotten. The author, Gege Akutami, mentioned Yuji early in the new series, confirming just how powerful he’s become as an adult. It’s now known that Yuji reached an incredibly high level of strength and continued to improve his abilities.
Adult Yuji Itadori Was On The Same Level As Gojo Satoru
Japan Remembers Him As A Mighty Fighter

- He defeated the King of Curses
- Yuji has potential equal to Sukuna
Throughout the current arc of *Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo*, we haven’t seen Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, or Nobara at all. Since the original series ended 68 years ago, it’s unknown if they’re still alive. However, most fans assume they are and expect them to reappear soon. Gege Akutami, the author, likely won’t leave his main characters out of the story for long.
Yuji Itadori declared to Ryomen Sukuna during their confrontation in Shinjuku, “I can defeat you, and it’s not too late for you to change.”
From the beginning of *Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo*, it’s been established that Yuji Itadori is among the most powerful sorcerers in Japan. This is due to his crucial role in defeating Ryomen Sukuna – he continued the fight after Gojo’s defeat and ultimately realized his full potential in the aftermath of the war.

It’s clear that Yuji Itadori ultimately lived up to his incredible potential as he grew up. As Uraume pointed out, Yuji possessed a level of power comparable to Ryomen Sukuna. This suggests that if Yuji had fully mastered his abilities, he could have become as strong as Sukuna, which seems entirely possible.
Wait, does that mean this brat has the same potential as Master Sukuna? — Uraume on Yuji Itadori
Yuji Was Likely The Strongest Sorcerer Of His Time
His Current Whereabouts Are Unknown

Yuji Itadori was an incredibly powerful sorcerer, and many believe that if he’d been allowed to fully develop his abilities, he would have become the strongest sorcerer in Japan. While Yuta Okkotsu is also exceptionally strong, most agree Yuji had a higher potential. This is because Yuji possessed the same raw power as Sukuna, and also had the added ability to control blood.
Fans are hoping to see Yuji Itadori return if he’s still alive, as his presence would significantly raise the stakes. Japan is currently facing a powerful enemy – the Simurians – and Yuka and Tsurugi simply aren’t strong enough to handle them alone. If Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara have survived, they’ll need to join the fight and offer their assistance.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a hugely popular action manga that recently finished its run in late 2024.
