As a die-hard fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, I can confidently say that the epilogue was the cherry on top of this phenomenal manga. The way Gege tied up loose ends and set up potential relationships for some of our favorite characters left me in awe.

The plot then unveiled that Panda had ceased functioning in 2035 and was stored within the Gojo family’s storage unit at that time. Remarkably, the head of the Gojo household during this period was none other than Yuta Okkotsu. This revelation sent shockwaves through the fanbase, but what truly left them stunned was discovering that the current narrative timeline actually placed us in the year 2080.

This could potentially cause confusion, given that Yuta is suggested to be in a relationship with Maki in this series. Yuta has two grandkids, one of whom resembles him and wears his ring as a necklace, suggesting that Rika is still summoned by the ring and likely serves as their family protector at this point in time. The other grandchild strongly resembles Maki, leading fans to speculate that she might be the grandmother of these children due to the strong Zenin genes present in her character.

However, just then, Yuji stumbled upon her and recognized her immediately.

Previously, during their encounter prior to the Shibuya Incident, an event similar to what we see now transpired. On this occasion too, Yuji recognized her quickly and they engaged in a heartfelt discussion about their lives. The author hinted at the possibility of these characters forming a romantic bond through the symbolism of snowfall. As children, they would often watch snow together, a moment Ozawa found particularly enchanting because it was shared with someone she cared deeply for.

In due time, Ozawa inquired of Yuji if his affection for snowfall had persisted, to which he responded positively. Currently, Ozawa and Yuji are experiencing snowfall together once more, a development that fans recognize as a significant precursor by Gege. This notion was further emphasized when Nobara and Megumi observed that Yuji is on the verge of maturity, suggesting that this could be his journey towards an adult relationship and further development.

Without a doubt, Yuji’s relationship appears to be less defined compared to Yuta’s, but it’s clear that the author is subtly introducing a romantic angle with Ozawa. If she wasn’t intended for a romantic role, including her in the epilogue would seem rather pointless.
