Recent events involving the Simurians have revealed that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo’s villain, Dabura, is incredibly powerful – currently surpassing even Gojo and Sukuna in strength.

This idea was confirmed when the author, Gege Akutami, stated that the Simurian King, Dabura, possesses a power level comparable to Sukuna’s.

Many fans were surprised, but recent developments in the manga strongly suggest that Dabura is a threat on par with, and potentially even stronger than, both Sukuna and Gojo.

Judging by Maru’s abilities, it’s clear he’s incredibly powerful, even though he isn’t the strongest Simurian. He easily defeated a Grade 1 sorcerer without even trying his best, and even a Special Grade sorcerer like Jogo wouldn’t stand a chance against him due to Maru’s unique and reality-altering cursed technique. Within the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Dabura is established as the strongest of the Simurians. If Maru’s abilities are comparable to the most powerful Special Grades, then Dabura’s power likely rivals or even surpasses that of Sukuna and Gojo. Maru’s cursed technique is already considered as strong as Gojo’s and significantly better than Sukuna’s Shrine, meaning Dabura must be even more formidable – a point fans should remember. It’s also important to note that all Simurians naturally possess and can use cursed energy, unlike the general population in Japan.

Gege Akutami describes how a single idea led to the creation of “Mojuro.” The project started without a clear concept, but after many planning sessions, it began to take shape. It’s planned as a short series, lasting around six months and compiled into approximately three volumes.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a hugely popular action series. The original manga finished in late 2024 and is available to read online for free on Manga Plus, where new chapters used to appear every week. A sequel series, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is now running in Weekly Shonen Jump.
