Initially, many didn’t expect Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo to be so well-received. While Akutami usually centers stories around action, Modulo is different. It still features great battles, but the character development and overall story are exceptionally strong. Many believe Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is not only meeting expectations but even surpassing the quality of the original Jujutsu Kaisen in certain aspects.

I witnessed how the Rumelians, defeated in war, were pushed into a barren, waterless land by the Deskunte. It was Dura who really changed things, though – he spearheaded the building of a canal that allowed them to thrive. Just when relations between the two groups were starting to heal, a man named Kalyan committed a terrible act – he killed the Deskunte Chieftain’s daughter. Now, I fear everything could erupt into violence again.

The idea for “Mojuro” started with just a small inspiration. It didn’t begin with a fully formed concept, but after a lot of planning, it eventually took shape. Akutami intends it to be a brief story, lasting around six months and compiled into approximately three volumes.

Chapter 9 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will likely reveal more details about the recent turmoil in the story. We already know the Simurians will lose their home, but the next chapter will show us how that happens – meaning Cross’s story is set to be truly frightening. The most probable scenario is a conflict between the Rumelians and the Deskunte tribes. It’s possible Dura might even sacrifice himself to restore peace and strengthen the bond between the groups, meaning we could see Dura’s death in chapter 9.
