This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo series.
I’ve been really enjoying Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo so far. It’s introduced a brand new group of beings to the story, and really built out the world in a fascinating way. What’s particularly cool is how much focus there’s been on the power system, and we’ve met some unbelievably strong characters. It’s been great to see!
The series has introduced many new characters recently, including a powerful sorcerer who could potentially surpass and even defeat Gojo Satoru. While fans know how incredibly strong Gojo was with his Limitless technique and Six Eyes, this new monster sorcerer, named Dabura Karaba, appears to have the power to overcome him.

- Dabura’s Cursed Technique Is Way Too Overpowered
Gojo Satoru was considered the most powerful sorcerer of his era. This was mainly due to his incredible natural abilities: the Limitless Cursed Technique, a power passed down through the Gojo family, and the exceptionally rare Six Eyes. For four centuries, no one had possessed both of these abilities simultaneously. Combined, they made Gojo nearly invincible, to the point where the only being considered a match for him was Sukuna.
It was a long time ago, probably during the Edo period or maybe even earlier. The heads of the Gojo and Zenin families fought each other in front of everyone. Back then, the Gojo family leader, like me, had the Six Eyes and used Limitless cursed technique, and the Zenin family leader, like you, Megumi, used the Ten Shadows technique. Does that make sense?
The fight between Gojo and Sukuna in Shinjuku was incredibly close and exciting. Later, the author confirmed they were evenly matched, with Gojo’s defeat stemming from a brief moment of distraction. Ultimately, Gojo needed to lose to allow the story to progress, but he proved to be Sukuna’s true equal in power.
It looks like JJK Modulo has introduced a new sorcerer, Dabura Karaba, who is as powerful as Gojo and Sukuna. Dabura belongs to the Deskunte tribe, a particularly strong group within the Simurians, known for their amazing abilities. He specifically inherited a unique power from his tribe: a terrifyingly strong murderous intent combined with the manipulation of light. This suggests Dabura could potentially become even stronger than Gojo and Sukuna.
Dabura’s Cursed Technique Is Murderous Light
Dabura’s unique ability lets him physically manifest murderous intent, giving it substance and weight. He can even apply this to things like light, making it heavy and capable of attacking on its own, giving him incredible control. Because of this powerful technique, many fans believe Dabura, who is often compared to Sukuna in strength, could defeat Gojo.
Dabura’s cursed techniques involve both darkness and light. This technique is essentially materialized killing intent – something humans can’t even begin to explain – and has been passed down through the Deskunte Tribe, as explained in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 15.
Dabura’s unique ability allowed him to inflict damage comparable to Sukuna during his fight with Mahoraga. In some ways, its power is similar to Gojo’s Hollow Purple technique.
I’ve noticed a fascinating parallel between Gojo and Dabura. Gojo manifests the idea of ‘virtual mass’ with his Hollow Purple, essentially making something from nothing. Dabura does something similar, but with a much darker concept – he can actually give physical form to murderous intent, turning pure malice into something real and tangible.
These two sorcerers are remarkably alike, suggesting Dabura could beat Gojo in a fight, much like Sukuna did. While not a guaranteed win, Dabura would likely win around half the time, as their power levels seem comparable.
Dabura Would Be A Worthy Rival For Gojo Satoru
A fight between Dabura and Gojo would be amazing for fans to watch. Gojo is already known for having one of the best fighting styles in Jujutsu Kaisen. Now that Dabura has appeared with a cursed technique that’s both similar to and different from Gojo’s, it’s exciting to imagine how Gojo would have enjoyed the challenge of fighting such a powerful Simurian.
Sadly, a fight between Gojo and Dabura isn’t possible now that Gojo has passed away. However, Dabura would have been an amazing opponent for Gojo. Who would win would likely depend on how the author, Gege, wants the battle to impact the story’s current events.
Dabura definitely has a chance of winning against Gojo, and Gojo likely has a good chance of beating Dabura as well. Gojo’s mastery of powerful techniques like Reverse Cursed Technique and Barrier Techniques gives him an edge, as it’s currently unknown if the Simurians possess similar abilities.
The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is currently being published in Weekly Shonen Jump. It takes place 68 years after the Shinjuku Showdown, and features Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta and Maki, as the main characters. Chapter 16 is scheduled to be released on December 21, 2025, at midnight in Japan (11:00 AM Eastern Time, 8:00 AM Pacific Time). Readers can access the chapter for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
