Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Officially Reveals The Dark Fate Of Yuji Itadori

This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen series.

The current arc of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is incredibly fast-paced, and fans are impressed with how Gege Akutami is both expanding the world of Jujutsu Kaisen – set 68 years in the future – and delivering exciting fights. The story primarily follows the next generation of sorcerers, specifically Maki and Yuta’s grandchildren, Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu. However, characters from the previous generation still play important roles.

The author, Gege Akutami, is also focusing on Yuji Itadori’s story. We even saw Nobara Kugisaki make a return in Chapter 13 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. However, it’s becoming increasingly clear that older characters are being killed off, and the story is now heavily hinting at Yuji Itadori’s eventual death.

Yuji Itadori Cannot Age Anymore In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

I was reading the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, and it hit me – Yuji Itadori, the main character, apparently stopped aging. It all makes sense now, considering he wasn’t really born in the traditional sense; Kenjaku created him specifically to be a perfect container for Sukuna. It’s a really tragic realization, because he’s stuck watching everyone around him grow old and pass away while he remains the same, completely helpless to change it. He’s been living with this quiet despair for a while now.

It’s amazing how young Kugisaki Nobara’s acquaintance looks, but he’s actually bothered by it.

This also prevents him from granting his grandfather’s last wish – to pass away peacefully with his loved ones nearby. Yuji feels helpless to protect the people around him, and that’s why he’s distanced himself from the sorcerer community, choosing to live a solitary life.

Gege Akutami Sets Up Yuji’s Death in A Battle

It looks like Yuji Itadori’s story will likely end with JJK Modulo. This is strongly suggested by Mahito’s appearance in the new arc – he’s clearly waiting for Yuji in the afterlife. Because Yuji can no longer age or die, Mahito’s presence hints that their final confrontation is already planned.

Being incredibly powerful can be a very lonely experience. And when it comes to understanding love, I’ll be the one to show you – that’s a promise from me. — Gojo Satoru to Sukuna

Yuji is also driven by his grandfather’s wish to be loved and cared for by those around him. This ultimately means Yuji Itadori is fated to die within the story of Jujutsu Kaisen, and it’s a central part of the plot.

Yuji is incredibly powerful, but this also makes him deeply lonely, similar to Gojo and Sukuna. Ultimately, he can only find peace before death by encountering someone who surpasses his strength.

Yuji Vs Dabura Is Coming

The character destined to kill Yuji Itadori has already appeared in JJK Modulo. As many fans likely predicted, Dabura is an exceptionally strong monster and will be Yuji’s final opponent. Currently, sorcerers in Japan are searching for Yuji so he can participate in the battle against Dabura, but he remains missing. Because of this, Yuka Okkotsu has been selected to represent humanity in the deathmatch.

It’s very unlikely Yuka will die in this fight. Instead, Yuji might take control and face Dabura himself, creating a highly anticipated battle between the two. While Dabura is expected to win, this outcome would ultimately bring Yuji peace and allow him to reunite with Mahito in the afterlife.

The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is currently being published in Weekly Shonen Jump. Chapter 14 is scheduled to come out on December 7, 2025, at midnight in Japan (11:00 AM Eastern Time, 8:00 AM Pacific Time). Readers can access the chapter for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
