Episode 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 didn’t feature much action, but it was still an interesting watch for many fans. After being guided by Choso, Yuji and his friends finally reached Tengen. Given how long Tengen has lived, he likely knows a lot about the history and events within the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Tengen explained Kenjaku’s scheme to reshape humanity, a plan with potentially global consequences. He also detailed all the rules of the Culling Game.

The Culling Game’s Rules Have Been Revealed

Episode 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 largely explained the rules of the Culling Game. Tengen shared that there are eight essential rules, and those who break them face death. After explaining everything, Tsukumo and Choso volunteered to stay with Tengen, as he worried Kenjaku might attack. Tengen made it clear he needed two protectors from the group—Tsukumo, Choso, and Yuta—and ultimately, Tsukumo and Choso agreed to stay and guard him.

Maki and Megumi Fushiguro went to the Zenin clan’s treasury to find cursed tools that could help them in the Culling Game. They wouldn’t have been able to get in before, but now that Megumi is the head of the Zenin clan, access wasn’t a problem.

Yuta and Yuji joined the Culling Game, hoping to gain a lead in their search for Angel – a powerful sorcerer who can remove any cursed technique. Tengen explained that Angel’s ability is the key to breaking the Prison Realm and freeing Gojo Satoru. As Gojo’s students, they’re determined to save him. They also know Gojo is humanity’s strongest defense against curses, and without him, jujutsu sorcerers would be severely weakened and could lose the fight.

I’m looking forward to Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 4, which is scheduled to air on January 22nd, 2026. The episode, titled “Perfect Preparation,” seems to center around Maki and Fushiguro as they make their way to the Zenin clan’s treasury. It’s clear there’s a lot of bad blood between Maki and her clan – she’s been treated poorly by them and holds a strong resentment. From what I understand, the Zenin clan’s leaders aren’t happy with Maki’s limited cursed energy either.

Naoya Zenin is determined to kill Megumi Fushiguro to take control of the Zenin clan, even though Megumi has no involvement in the clan’s internal conflicts. Introduced early in season three of Jujutsu Kaisen, Naoya quickly established himself as a ruthless and powerful sorcerer with a strong dislike for Megumi. Megumi will need all the help he can get to survive, but luckily he’s not facing Naoya alone. Maki is with him, and while she’s a more skilled sorcerer than Megumi, Naoya will still be a difficult opponent for her.

The English dubbed version will be released later. After this episode, only 9 more episodes will be left in this part of the season. MAPPA has labeled the first 13 episodes as ‘Season 3 Part 1’, suggesting the Culling Game arc will continue in a future installment.
