After a long wait, Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is back, and it made a stunning return! MAPPA, the animation studio, has clearly delivered another incredible season that fans will be discussing for years to come. The premiere actually consisted of two episodes, packed with new details and developments.

A recent episode revealed something surprising about the powerful sorcerer, Gojo Satoru. While Gojo has always been presented as unbeatable, the latest season of Jujutsu Kaisen introduced a character with even more cursed energy than him.

In the second episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Yuta Okkotsu spoke with Yuji Itadori about what’s happening in Japan. Following the events of the Shibuya Incident, Satoru Gojo was sealed, which had major consequences. Most significantly, it allowed the leaders at Jujutsu High to order Itadori’s execution. They had previously hesitated because of Gojo, not wanting to risk angering such a powerful sorcerer, but with him out of the picture, they felt they could act without consequences.

Okay, so Yuta revealed this crazy plan he had to eliminate Yuji – it was all part of a promise and a way to protect his friends from the higher-ups. Right before he attacked, he dropped this huge bomb: he actually had more cursed energy reserves than Gojo! But then he immediately explained that Gojo’s Six Eyes are what really kept him from running out of energy. It just hit me how unbelievably powerful Gojo is compared to everyone else, and it totally explains why Kenjaku was so obsessed with sealing him away. The guy knew he’d never get anywhere with his plans if Gojo was still out there, so he had to come up with this elaborate trap. It’s wild!

Itadori And Yuta Will Try To Rescue Gojo Satoru

After Yuji seemingly died, Yuta told Naoya Zenin to inform Jujutsu High. He then moved Yuji to a secure location and explained that Gojo Satoru had requested he look after him. While talking, Yuta shared their plan to rescue Gojo from the Prison Realm, but they needed more details to succeed.

The group tried to meet with Tengen, hoping he could explain what was happening. Sadly, the episode finished before he had a chance to share any information. Don’t worry, though – you’ll be able to find out what he knows in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 3, which will be released on January 15th, 2026.

The Culling Game Is Going To Start Soon

The first two episodes also revealed the “Culling Game,” a tournament open to both sorcerers and non-sorcerers across Japan. Participants will have to abide by a specific set of rules, which are as follows:

  1. Once a participant awakens their cursed technique, they must head to a colony of choice within 19 days and pledge their participation.
  2. Players who break the first rule will be stripped of their technique.
  3. Non-players will become players once they enter a colony. Additionally, their entry will be taken as a pledge to join the Culling Game.
  4. Participants will earn points for killing another player.
  5. Each individual’s life has a certain number of points.
  6. Players can spend 100 points and negotiate with the game master about adding a new rule.
  7. The game master needs to approve any rule unless it hinders the Culling Game.
  8. Players who do not gain new points within 19 days will be stripped of their technique.

The rules might seem a bit complicated right now, but as Season 3 focuses on the Culling Game, viewers will gradually understand them better.
