This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen series.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is off to a fantastic start, successfully building a fresh world and adding exciting new ideas to the story. Gege Akutami has revitalized the existing universe, making it even more compelling. It’s clear that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is handling everything expertly, which explains why fans are loving it so much.
The author, Gege Akutami, has spent a lot of time developing the world and its details, and now seems to be shifting focus towards more action. The story’s central idea – peaceful coexistence between humans and Simurians – was initially presented as achievable. However, it’s now clear that a war between these two groups is coming. Akutami is building towards a massive conflict in Modulo, which has the potential to be even larger and more impactful than the devastating Sukuna raid that previously reshaped the world and left a lasting mark on Shinjuku.
Jujutsu Kaisen Officially Sets Up War Against Simurians
Image from Manga Plus At the start of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, many viewers thought the Simurians were the story’s villains and completely malicious. However, it was later revealed that they had understandable reasons for coming to Earth – they simply wanted to live peacefully alongside humans. Gege Akutami’s skillful writing allowed fans to sympathize with their motivations. Sadly, peaceful coexistence seems unlikely without a war first.
Perhaps a political alliance between our groups could be beneficial? — Japanese Sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
Chapter 11 of the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo story dramatically escalated tensions between humans and Simurians. Despite a previously positive relationship, a significant event has occurred that will permanently alter their connection and likely lead to war.
Human-Simurian Relationship Is Breaking Down
Image from Manga Plus In the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, a Rumelian Elder was shown in intense pain, crying from his third eye. The author, Gege Akutami, previously explained that Rumelians cry this way when a Kalyan – a deity-like being who gave them their cursed energy – dies. The previous chapter revealed the elder was crying because he witnessed humans killing a Kalyan, which confused fans since Kalyans aren’t believed to exist on Earth.
I don’t trust them. I witnessed it with my own eyes – humans killed a Kalyan! – said a Simurian Elder in JJK Modulo Chapter 11.
It appears Kalyan are essentially spirits native to Earth, and humans are constantly banishing them. This makes peaceful coexistence between humans and Rumelians currently impossible, and unfortunately, conflict seems unavoidable. If this continues, the Simurians will likely change their stance and launch a full-scale attack on Japan. This would trigger a war far larger and more devastating than the fight against Sukuna.
The Human-Simurian Conflict Will Be Bigger Than The Sukuna War
Image from Manga Plus Wow, the Sukuna battle in Jujutsu Kaisen was epic, absolutely! But honestly, the upcoming fight with the Simurians feels way more terrifying. It’s not just one powerful being this time – we’re talking about a massive army of 50,000 strong warriors! And they aren’t pushovers; they’ve even got sorcerers who could easily be Special Grade, like Maru and Cross. But the real kicker is Dabura – he’s a threat on the same level as Sukuna, maybe even bigger. Seriously, if a war breaks out with these guys, I’m worried Japan won’t stand a chance. This feels like a much larger-scale disaster waiting to happen.
Japan urgently needs to locate Yuji Itadori. Having him on their side would give them a significant advantage – a powerful weapon if war breaks out. Sadly, it looks like a conflict between humans and Simurians is unavoidable in Jujutsu Kaisen. Hopefully, the upcoming chapters of JJK Modulo will reveal what happens next and clarify the future of the world.
The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is currently being published in Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. Chapter 12 is scheduled to come out on November 23, 2025, at midnight in Japan (11:00 AM Eastern Time, 8:00 AM Pacific Time). Readers can access the chapter for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
