Jujutsu Kaisen: Sukuna’s Most Overpowered Moments In The Manga

Wow, Ryomen Sukuna is seriously one of the most terrifying villains anime has given us in recent years – I’d honestly put him up there with characters like Griffith and Shou Tucker in terms of how impactful he is! As everyone knows, he’s legendary as the strongest sorcerer ever, and he’s absolutely central to the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen, ultimately becoming the series’ big bad, the final boss we’re all waiting to face off against.

As a huge fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, I’ve been consistently blown away by just how powerful Sukuna is! Throughout the series, he shows time and time again that he’s on a completely different level than the other characters – it often feels like our heroes don’t stand a chance. Even during the final battle, it’s hard to imagine how they could possibly win, because Sukuna is always adapting and shrugging off even the most devastating attacks, and then responding with some truly shocking and terrible acts. I wanted to highlight some of Sukuna’s most overpowered moments from the manga. It’s just incredible to see his strength!

Giving Himself A Peak Physical Form

After A Grueling Battle, Sukuna Self-Repairs

I’m absolutely fascinated by Sukuna – the guy isn’t just a powerful curse, he’s a brilliant strategist! It’s like he has a plan for *every* scenario, with even those plans having backups. Now, as he’s finally putting his incredibly sinister plot into motion, it’s amazing to see the sorcerers from Jujutsu High and all their allies stepping up. They’ve officially declared war on Sukuna and are flooding the battlefield, determined to take down the King of Curses. It’s going to be an epic showdown, I can feel it!

I witnessed a truly shocking turn of events after the brutal fight between Sukuna and Satoru Gojo, and then Kashimo. Sukuna was left incredibly weakened and deformed. But just when Yuji, Yuta, and the others moved in for the final blow, he activated a backup plan. It allowed him to fully reincarnate his original, perfect body into the present day. The result was astounding – Sukuna suddenly had four arms, multiple mouths, and was completely healed from all the previous battles. It was clear he now had a real chance to demonstrate why he was considered the strongest sorcerer in history.

Outclassing Jogo In Their Fight In Shibuya

The King Of Curses Beats The King Of Flames At His Own Game

The Shibuya arc of Jujutsu Kaisen provided the first major display of Sukuna’s abilities, and it’s considered one of the most intense arcs in the show. After Satoru Gojo was sealed away and a severely injured Yuji was forced to consume ten cursed fingers, Sukuna was free to cause chaos throughout the district. He immediately challenged Jogo to a fight, offering to cooperate with him if Jogo could even land one hit. What followed was a brutal display of power that Jogo hadn’t anticipated – a strength that differed greatly from Satoru Gojo’s. The battle culminated in a devastating clash between Sukuna and Jogo, fire against fire, ultimately leaving Jogo completely destroyed.

Copying Satoru Gojo And Healing His brain Mid-Fight

Anything Gojo Can Do, Sukuna Can Do Better

The highly anticipated fight between Gojo and Sukuna immediately launched into action, with both fighters activating their Domain Expansion at the same time. The battle quickly became a contest of strength, as they tried to overwhelm each other. Though their clashes were incredibly fierce, both were feeling the strain of using such powerful techniques. Usually, using Domain Expansion takes a heavy toll on Sorcerers, leaving them temporarily weakened. However, Gojo demonstrated his skill with the Reverse Cursed technique, repairing the damage to his body and regaining his power. Even more surprisingly, Sukuna observed this and copied the tactic, healing his own brain and restoring his technique, mirroring Gojo’s recovery.

Turning Shibuya Into A Mass Grave

Sukuna Unleashes His Domain On The Entire City

After Jogo, a powerful cursed spirit, released Sukuna by offering him ten fingers, Shibuya became Sukuna’s domain. Once free, Sukuna chose to wreak havoc, and the resulting destruction was immense. The battle with Jogo left the area completely devastated, and things worsened when Sukuna also fought Mahoraga, resulting in a terrifying demonstration of the King of Curses’ power. In a single night, Sukuna turned Shibuya into a disaster zone – a dark mark on the map where a vibrant community once lived. It was truly catastrophic. This event significantly impacted the Jujutsu world.

Taking On The Entire Cast At Once

Sukuna Holds His Own On Nearly Every Character In The Series

The climactic fight against Sukuna started like a series of challenges, with many opponents attacking him one after another to weaken him before the finishing strike. But the battle quickly became incredibly intense, and Sukuna proved nearly impossible to defeat, enduring devastating attacks from the most powerful sorcerers remaining. In the final moments of the fight, Sukuna was simultaneously battling Yuji, Yuta, Maki, and even Takumo, after a long series of exhausting fights, yet he still managed to hold his ground. The combined strength of all the sorcerers trying to defeat Sukuna was only just enough to faze him, highlighting exactly how powerful he had become.

Fighting After Being Stabbed Through The Heart

The King Of Curses Doesn’t Need A Heartbeat To Win

A truly memorable fight in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga happened when Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu joined forces to battle the King of Curses, with the world’s future hanging in the balance. During this intense conflict, both Yuta and Yuji fought with incredible ferocity, prepared to do whatever it took – no matter how ruthless – to find even the smallest advantage.

The chance to strike finally came thanks to a combined attack by Yuji and Yuta on Sukuna’s soul, which created an opening for Maki to ambush him and stab him with the soul-splitting blade directly through the heart. Although this should have been enough to severely weaken the strongest sorcerer ever, it hardly affected him. Sukuna continued his destructive rampage, even with a large wound in his chest. It was a shocking display of power.

Tanking Being Hit By His Own Technique

No Weapon Forged Against Sukuna Shall Prosper

One of Sukuna’s most powerful attacks was his cleave and dismantle, a technique that could cut through absolutely anything in its way. When Yuji and Yuta attempted to overpower Sukuna within Yuta’s Domain, they used every strategy available to them to achieve their goal.

Yuta, famous for his copy ability, managed to replicate Sukuna’s technique. Unexpectedly, Yuji did the same, using Dismantle after the technique became ingrained in his soul as Sukuna’s initial host. However, neither attack had much effect on Sukuna. He simply brushed both strikes off and showed little reaction, even as his own technique was harming him.

Surviving Jacob’s Ladder

Sukuna Withstands A Technique Designed To Kill Him

A key advantage in the climactic fight against Sukuna was Angel, a reincarnated sorcerer brought to the present through the Culling Games. Unlike other revived sorcerers, Angel showed considerable self-control, largely because of her singular goal. Angel wanted to confront Sukuna on the battlefield and defeat him. Her unique ability completely eliminates cursed energy; if used against Sukuna while he possessed a host, it would expel him, effectively ending the war against the King of Curses. However, during the final confrontation, Sukuna withstood two hits from Jacob’s Ladder and survived both, defying the technique’s rules even while suffering considerable injury.
