This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen.
The main storyline for Jujutsu Kaisen concluded last year, but creator Gege Akutami is now working on a new venture – a spin-off manga titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. This series delves into future events and introduces fresh protagonists, implying that Yuji, the original hero of Jujutsu Kaisen, will not be the primary character in this new series. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t see Yuji anymore in JJK Modulo.
After the fight with Sukuna in Shinjuku, Yuji emerged as the strongest sorcerer within the world of JJK. Even if the storyline of Modulo progresses far into the future, it’s plausible that he remains alive, unlike many other cherished characters from Jujutsu Kaisen.
Yuji Has Yet To Appear in the Current JJK Modulo Timeline

- Yuji Was Seen in a Throwback Panel
- Yuji Is The Strongest Sorcerer in JJK
The first chapter of “Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo” has officially dropped, leaving fans thrilled! This lengthy 54-page chapter is nothing short of a wild ride. New characters were introduced alongside familiar ones like Yuta’s grandchildren, Yuka and Tsurugi. A brief glimpse was also given of Yuji and Gojo, though not in the present timeline. It’s mentioned that they are Japan’s strongest sorcerers, and having Gojo and Yuji on the same level is quite intriguing, hinting at Yuji’s growth during the Sukuna fight and possibly beyond.
Yuji Could Still be Alive in JJK Modulo

- Yuji is No Normal Human
- Yuji Will Help the New Protagonists
In the realm of Jujutsu Kaisen, fresh challenges are arising, leaving fans curious if any familiar faces might reappear to aid the latest heroes. Given the advanced age or deceased status of many characters, there’s speculation that Yuji could make a significant return and potentially have an impactful part in JJK Modulo.
From a tiny spark emerged ‘Mojuro,’ an idea that initially didn’t exist at all. After countless brainstorming sessions, it was brought to fruition. This creation will be serialized over a brief period, approximately six months, and is expected to span around three volumes.” – Gege Akutami (Paraphrased)
As someone uniquely extraordinary, I find myself endowed with an exceptional status. You see, I was once the dwelling place of Sukuna for quite a while, but that’s not all – I was also born by Kenjaku, which sets me apart from others. This peculiar circumstance might be the reason why I age at a slower pace compared to normal humans or simply possess an abundance of vigor, making my return feasible. I envision myself as a guiding light for the emerging generation, navigating them through their arduous battles. In these ominous times, with the potential threat from aliens looming larger than Sukuna ever did, my role might prove pivotal indeed.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga concluded around late 2024 and can be accessed online without cost. You can find it on Manga Plus, where it was originally published weekly. For those eagerly anticipating the next installment of JJK, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, look no further than Manga Plus, where it will continue to be serialized on a weekly basis starting September 7, 2025.
