This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
One key aspect that Jujutsu Kaisen prioritizes is the intense action sequences. This series truly embodies the battle-centric genre known as Shonen, and has enjoyed immense success over the past decade. Given the pivotal role battles play in this manga, fans are often curious about which characters exhibit the greatest strength. Intriguingly, Gege Akutami himself has already hinted at these top-tier characters through his latest work, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
It’s no secret that fans are aware of the astonishing power of Satoru Gojo and Ryomen Sukuna. However, Yuji has now joined their ranks, being recognized as one of Japan’s greatest sorcerers ever. As a result, these three formidable individuals – Gojo, Sukuna, and Yuji – are undeniably among the strongest characters in JJK.
Gojo and Sukuna are the Undisputed Strongest Sorcerers of JJK

In the community of fans for JJK, it was universally agreed that Gojo and Sukuna were undeniably the most powerful sorcerers in the world. Their epic clash during the Shinjuku Showdown arc demonstrated this power struggle, with both characters causing significant damage to each other. The two were evenly matched, suggesting a close competition in strength.

In a notable display, Gojo was distinguished by his Six Eyes and infinite potential, while Sukuna possessed Mahoraga and his unique cursed technique, Shrine. Despite Sukuna emerging victorious, it’s important to note that this doesn’t necessarily mean he is superior to Gojo. Author Gege clarified that Gojo intentionally lowered his guard, and Sukuna had the advantage of Ten Shadows. After the events in Shinjuku, both characters met their demise. As a result of these events, Yuji Itadori has since emerged as the most powerful sorcerer in JJK.
Yuji Has Reached New Levels of power as a Sorcerer

- Yuji is on the Level of Sukuna and Gojo
- Yuji is the Strongest Sorcerer After the Shinjuku Showdown Incident
In simpler terms, during the Shinjuku Showdown arc, Gojo and Sukuna were incredibly powerful, but it was Yuji who emerged as the strongest sorcerer. At that time, Yuji wasn’t yet at his full potential, so we can only imagine how much stronger he might be now as an adult.
What started as a mere spark eventually bloomed into the creation of ‘Mojuro.’ At first, it was just an abstract concept without any clear definition. After countless brainstorming sessions, it took shape and became a reality. This project will be serialized over a short period, approximately half a year, and is planned to be compiled in around 3 volumes. (Gege Akutami)
In the continuation of “Jujutsu Kaisen,” known as the “Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo,” creator Gege Akutami has disclosed that both Gojo and Yuji are recognized as Japan’s foremost sorcerers. Being compared to Gojo undeniably carries significant weight for Yuji, despite the possibility that he may not have yet exceeded him. At the very least, this undoubtedly places Yuji among the top 3 strongest Jujutsu Kaisen characters of all time, alongside Sukuna and Gojo.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga concluded at the end of 2024 and can be read online without charge. It’s accessible on Manga Plus, the platform where it was originally serialized weekly. If you’re keen to catch up with the latest JJK sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, you can find it on Manga Plus as well, where it will be released weekly. The second chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is scheduled for release on September 14, 2025.
