Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Did Yuta Give the Ring to Yuka in Modulo?

At the start of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Yuta surprisingly gave his ring to Yuka instead of Tsurugi Okkotsu. The Gojo Clan then stepped in and insisted Tsurugi take the ring, which upset Yuka. This created tension between them, but it’s still unclear why Yuta originally chose Yuka to receive the ring.

Yuka Could Have Become the Strongest Next-Gen Sorcerer

Yuta Okkotsu’s ring is special because it lets him summon and use the powers of Rika, making it both powerful and risky. Before he died, Yuta gave the ring to his sister, Yuka, knowing she tends to act without thinking. He believed the ring would help guide and protect her until she became a skilled sorcerer, and he hoped she would dedicate herself to training.

Originally, Yuka was supposed to receive Yuta’s ring, which would have given her the power to summon and use Rika’s abilities. However, Rika hasn’t appeared in JJK Modulo because the Gojo Clan didn’t respect Yuta’s wishes and instead gave the ring to Tsurugi. Had Yuka kept the ring, she could have become the most powerful new-generation sorcerer in JJK Modulo, combining Rika’s power with the Ten Shadows Technique and exceeding all others.

Yuka Could Have Tamed Mahoraga With Rika

Yuka Is Currently in a State of Suspended Death

Recently in JJK Modulo, Yuka summoned the incredibly powerful Mahoraga, hoping to defeat Dabura Karaba in a fight that will decide Japan’s fate. The summoning worked, pulling Dabura into a deadly battle with Mahoraga, but it left Yuka in a near-death state. Unfortunately, Yuka is destined to die regardless of who wins. Fans are deeply concerned, as they desperately want to see her survive.

If Yuka had the ring, things might have turned out very differently. It could have stopped her from making the same dangerous choice as Megumi Fushiguro, protecting her as Yuta hoped. Instead of summoning the powerful and unpredictable Mahoraga, she could have used Rika against Dabura, and maintained control over all ten of her shadow puppets.

However, before facing Dabura, Yuka had the option of calling on Rika using Yuta’s ring to try and control Mahoraga. If she had, she would have been the first sorcerer with both Zenin and Okkotsu lineage to successfully manage the powerful Divine General Mahoraga. Unfortunately, that’s no longer an option, as Yuka no longer has the ring and is nearing the end of her life, unable to use Rika’s abilities or tame Mahoraga.

Yuka Okkotsu Lost the Ring to Tsurugi

The Gojo Clan Forced the Ring to Tsurugi

Yuka’s brother, Tsurugi Okkotsu, now possesses Yuta’s ring, even though he didn’t want it at first and it was meant for Yuka. Receiving the ring actually pushed Tsurugi to train and become stronger than his sister, proving everyone who underestimated him wrong. He feels the ring was given to him because the Gojo Clan thought he was weaker than Yuka and needed more help.

After that day, Tsurugi promised himself he would become as strong and determined as Maki, proving her family wrong. He took the ring as a symbol of this commitment, resolving to keep it until he exceeded Yuka’s abilities. This sudden change in ownership – from Yuka to Tsurugi – sparked a lot of questions about the Gojo Clan’s reasoning.

With Yuka now wielding the Ten Shadows Technique, the Gojo Clan currently lacks anyone with both Six Eyes and Limitless, disrupting the usual power dynamic. This is likely why they entrusted the ring to Tsurugi – Yuka possessing both Rika and the Ten Shadows Technique could potentially tip the scales in favor of their clan.
