This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen series.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has impressively developed a new generation of powerful sorcerers and expanded the series’ world with the introduction of alien races like the Simurians. The central conflict revolves around the possibility of humans and Simurians living together peacefully, but a war looms if they can’t find common ground. This is why the author, Gege Akutami, has brought Yuji Itadori back into the story.
Currently, Yuji Itadori is established as the most powerful sorcerer in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen – so much so that even Dabura, the strongest Simurian, wouldn’t risk invading Earth while he exists. Despite his immense power, Yuji has mysteriously disappeared. Though fans know he’s still alive and capable, his location remains a secret. It seems he left the other sorcerers sometime ago, and the reason is straightforward: after losing all of his friends, and recognizing his own strength, Yuji decided to forge his own path.
Yuji Itadori Is Alone As Everyone Else He Knew Is Dead
In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, it’s established that Yuji Itadori is currently alive and retains his immense power – he’s still Japan’s key defense against the incredibly powerful Dabura, a threat comparable to Sukuna. However, Yuji isn’t currently working alongside other sorcerers, and the reason is straightforward: he already spent decades fulfilling that role when necessary.
Let’s try it one more time, Sukuna. From the beginning. I will accept you. — Yuji Itadori
He protected Japan from all threats and brought peace during his time, but that time has passed. Yuji has suffered immense loss – his friends, including Yuta and Maki, are gone. There’s been no news about Nobara or Megumi, and considering they weren’t sorcerers, they’re likely also deceased. Yuji has lost everyone he cared about, and it’s become clear that his skills aren’t needed in this peaceful age. That is, until the arrival of the Simurians, which has suddenly changed everything.
Yuji Itadori Is The Strongest, And With Strength Comes Solitude
Another major reason Yuji Itadori is currently isolated is his incredible strength. Gojo Satoru pointed out that being the strongest often leads to loneliness, and it can be hard for those at the top to truly connect with others. Essentially, he’s unmatched and doesn’t have anyone who fully understands what he’s going through.
The one who will teach you about love is…me! — Gojo Satoru to Sukuna
Yuji Itadori is currently considered the strongest person in Japan and is incredibly resilient. However, this strength leaves him feeling isolated and alone. He longs for someone who truly understands him, and the only person capable of providing that connection is Dabura, someone powerful enough to challenge and fight him at full strength.
Yuji Will Return To Fight Temporarily
Everything suggests that Yuji Itadori will be back in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo soon. Fans already suspect he’s still around and hasn’t aged much. Now, Japan is actively looking for him. It’s only a matter of time before he’s found and potentially needed to fight, either in a war against the Simurians or as a way to prevent one.
The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is currently being published in Weekly Shonen Jump. The latest chapter, Chapter 11, is scheduled to come out on November 16, 2025, and will be available to read for free on Manga Plus.
