Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji Itadori Vs Dabura Karaba, Explained

Jujutsu Kaisen is a standout shonen series created by Gege Akutami. Though its backstory and plot aren’t overly complex, the action sequences are exceptional. In fact, compared to many other modern and classic shonen series, Jujutsu Kaisen excels at portraying fights. Akutami clearly has a talent for designing incredible battles, and they’re visually stunning.

The battle between Gojo and Sukuna truly defines the essence of Jujutsu Kaisen, and was foreshadowed throughout the series. It culminated in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, effectively bringing the story to its conclusion, and tragically resulted in Gojo Satoru’s death. Now, the author, Gege Akutami, seems to be planning another incredibly large-scale battle that could be as impactful as the fight between Gojo and Sukuna. This upcoming fight will pit Yuji Itadori, currently the strongest human, against Dabura Karaba, the King of the Simurians – a key character in the sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Modulo.

Fans love seeing the strongest characters battle it out in anime, and Jujutsu Kaisen delivered spectacularly with the fight between Gojo Satoru and Ryomen Sukuna. Gege Akutami crafted both characters perfectly: Gojo represented the pinnacle of modern sorcery, while Sukuna embodied an ancient, overwhelming power that Gojo wanted to challenge himself against. This fight was a huge event that resonated far beyond the Jujutsu Kaisen fanbase, and it’s become legendary in manga history – many fans consider it one of the greatest battles ever depicted.

The intense battle between powerful characters that we’ve seen in Jujutsu Kaisen is happening again in the JJK Modulo storyline, but with a new matchup. The creator, Gege Akutami, has set up a fight between Yuji Itadori, who is considered the strongest human, and Dabura Karaba, the King of the Simurians – a character fans already know well.

It’s clear that Yuji Itadori has become incredibly strong. Sixty-eight years after the battle in Shinjuku, he’s now a force of nature – the most powerful sorcerer alive, taking Gojo Satoru’s place after his passing. He wields immense power, including access to Sukuna’s Shrine and the ability to manipulate blood. Plus, his body seems to function like a cursed spirit’s, meaning he doesn’t age. Essentially, Yuji has remained at his peak for decades, while other sorcerers have gradually weakened.

However, fans also have Dabura Karaba, a remarkably gifted member of the Deskunte tribe, a race from a distant planet who came hoping to live peacefully alongside humans. Sadly, disagreements have led to conflict, and now Dabura is prepared to demonstrate his incredible power. He’s the strongest of the Deskunte and possesses two dangerous abilities:

  1. His first cursed technique is Murderous Intent passed down the Deskunte tribe that cannot be truly understood by any human.
  2. His second and more important cursed technique is Light. Dabura can essentially create light beams and manipulate them however he wants. He can even apply this cursed technique to his own body and move at sub-light speeds.

Beyond his other abilities, Dabura is incredibly intelligent, allowing him to improve quickly during fights. He’s still growing as a sorcerer, but it’s clear he’s becoming exceptionally powerful. If he reaches his full potential, he could become the strongest character in the series. Currently, he’s battling Mahoraga, but he may soon face off against Yuji Itadori.

Yuji Parallels Sukuna While Dabura Parallels Gojo

Yuji Is Becoming Like The King Of Curses

I’ve noticed a really interesting connection between the characters of Dabura and Yuji, and how they mirror Gojo and Sukuna. It seems Yuji, like Sukuna, is incredibly powerful – arguably the strongest. What’s even more fascinating is that he uses the same cursed technique as Sukuna, and potentially has the same level of power as him. It turns out Yuji is the grandson of someone who was the reincarnation of Sukuna’s brother, which creates a direct link between them. While their personalities are different, in terms of raw power, Yuji and Sukuna seem to be cut from the same cloth.

Dabura and Gojo are both incredibly talented, showing natural skill in their cursed techniques. Interestingly, the way their powers work is also quite alike. Dabura can manipulate light, and during a fight, he learned to reverse his cursed energy, channeling positive energy back into his light technique to create a powerful reversal called Darkness. This is remarkably similar to how Gojo developed his power, Red, while fighting Toji Fushiguro. In fact, very few sorcerers in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe can reverse their cursed techniques, and Dabura and Gojo are among them.

As a huge fan of both Dabura and Gojo Satoru, I wouldn’t be shocked if Dabura started mixing light and darkness in a way that reminds me of Gojo’s Hollow Technique! They’re both incredibly brilliant, and honestly, their cursed techniques feel really similar at times. That’s why the thought of them actually fighting? It’s going to be absolutely amazing for us fans, I just know it!

Yuji Vs Dabura Will Be The Biggest Fight Of JJK Modulo

A Clash On The Level Of Gojo Vs Sukuna

The fight between Dabura and Mahoraga is escalating, and as Mahoraga weakens, Yuka will be in danger. Yuji Itadori will likely have to step in to protect her, even though he’d prefer to stay out of the battle. Unless the situation changes quickly, Yuji may not have a choice. A showdown between these two monsters seems imminent, and the author, Gege Akutami, might deliver it to fans very soon.

If this fight happens, it’s expected to be just as epic as the Gojo versus Sukuna battle, and fans are eagerly anticipating how the author will develop it. The fight also offers a chance to further explain the complex power system based on cursed energy. Viewers will likely see how much Yuji has grown over the past 68 years, alongside the emergence of a new, incredibly talented fighter similar to Gojo Satoru.
