From what I’ve seen, Yuji Itadori is currently the most powerful sorcerer in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. And for those following the new JJK Modulo story, it’s clear he’s back, and he’s become even stronger than before.
During the climax of the original story arc, Yuji Itadori unlocked significant power and reached his full potential while fighting Sukuna, even using his domain for the first time. Since then, he’s trained extensively, learning advanced jujutsu and a completely new Cursed Technique. Many fans believe that Yuji is now stronger than both Gojo Satoru and Ryomen Sukuna, leading them to anticipate a new Domain Expansion. While Yuji hasn’t revealed his full capabilities yet, it’s likely we’ll see this new power when he battles Dabura Karaba.
Yuji Itadori Gained His First Domain Expansion In Shinjuku
Yuji Itadori’s First Domain Expansion Was Imbued With Shrine
- Yuji awakened his domain vs Sukuna
- Yuji ended the Sukuna fight in his domain
Fans of the series are aware that Yuji Itadori has unlocked a Domain Expansion. He earned access to it during the intense Shinjuku Showdown arc, and it took a tremendous amount of effort.
Yuji learned to use Domain Expansion through training with Kusakabe during the month between the end of the Culling Game and the start of the Shinjuku Showdown. He practiced by switching bodies with both Yuta Okkotsu and Kusakabe, which allowed him to gain control over a Simple Domain. Yuji first used this ability while fighting against Ryomen Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine. This showed he understood Simple Domains well, and suggested he was ready to continue growing as a sorcerer.
That’s right Sukuna! I can defeat you. Let’s end the cycle of curses forever. — Yuji Itadori
During the same battle, Yuji unexpectedly unlocked a cursed technique that Sukuna’s energy had imprinted on his body. As Gojo previously explained, Yuji absorbed a lot of Sukuna’s cursed energy, which would eventually allow him to develop a similar technique. This happened after Yuji successfully landed a powerful Black Flash on Sukuna during the Shinjuku incident, and from then on, Yuji began to grow in power, gradually matching Sukuna’s abilities. While Yuji’s technique was also called Shrine, it initially functioned a little differently than Sukuna’s.
Sukuna’s cursed technique created broad, sweeping attacks, while Yuji’s was initially much more focused and precise, like the cuts of scissors. However, as demonstrated in JJK Modulo, Yuji has now developed his Shrine technique to the point where he can perform attacks identical to Sukuna’s.
Whether he realized it or not, Yuji successfully integrated his cursed technique, Shrine, into his domain, allowing him to develop a powerful Domain Expansion. The specifics of this Expansion remain a mystery, but it manifested as a recreation of places Yuji cherished from his childhood. It was within this domain that he ultimately defeated Sukuna.
Yuji’s Sure Hit Technique
Yuji’s special technique allows him to directly strike the souls of his opponents, and he combined this with a powerful Dismantle attack. This hit Sukuna’s soul, further loosening his control over Megumi Fushiguro. Following this, Yuji landed a Black Flash, completely separating Sukuna from Megumi and ultimately defeating Sukuna for good.
Yuji’s domain expansion was clearly very strong, but he hadn’t fully mastered it at the time. Now, it’s likely become much more powerful, not only with improvements to his original technique, but also with the addition of a new domain expansion he probably developed.
Yuji Itadori Could Use A Second Domain Expansion
Yuji Should Be Able To Imbue Blood Manipulation In His Domain
Image by Manga Plus As demonstrated in the recent Jujutsu Kaisen arc, Yuji Itadori can now control blood. He gained this ability after consuming Death Paintings 4 through 9 during the time skip leading up to the battle in Shinjuku. This power was initially intended to help Yuji quickly recover and use his Reverse Cursed Technique more efficiently by allowing him to manipulate his own blood for healing without using as much cursed energy.
I knew this was going to happen, even if I never actually said the words. Did I go too far with what I did? — Yuji Itadori, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 19
I’m so excited to see Yuji’s growth! He used to really struggle with Blood Manipulation because he couldn’t control the power of Convergence, but now he’s mastered it! Seriously, he’s even surpassing what Choso could do – it’s incredible! Considering Blood Manipulation is on the same level as Limitless and Ten Shadows, I think Gege Akutami is setting things up to reveal just how powerful this technique really is in the next part of the story. I can’t wait to see what he does with it!
While rare, it’s possible Yuji could develop a second Domain Expansion by incorporating Blood Manipulation into his existing one. Most jujutsu sorcerers only have one Domain Expansion, and typically, only one cursed technique. However, Yuji is unique – he can wield two techniques, which gives him the potential to use this powerful ability to his advantage in future fights.
Okay, I’m seriously hyped about Yuji potentially getting a Blood Domain Expansion! Basically, if he can infuse his Blood Manipulation into his domain, it could be absolutely insane. Imagine a space where he has total control over all the blood – even his opponents’! It could end up looking a lot like Megumi’s domain, totally filled with blood, but Yuji could do anything with it. He could change its properties, solidify it, make clones, or even mess with the blood inside people, like paralyzing them or, even more terrifyingly, making their blood boil! Honestly, the possibilities are endless, and Gege-sensei is going to have so much fun with this, and Yuji is the perfect character to showcase it all.
Yuji’s New Domain Will Take Blood Manipulation To Its Peak
Blood Manipulation Will Finally Get The Respect It Deserves
Image by Manga Plus Throughout Jujutsu Kaisen, we haven’t yet seen the full extent of Blood Manipulation, a powerful technique unique to the Kamo Clan – a clan historically as strong as the Gojo and Zenin families. While fans have witnessed incredible abilities like Mahoraga’s Ten Shadows Technique and Gojo Satoru’s Limitless, Blood Manipulation hasn’t been fully showcased. As the current arc of Jujutsu Kaisen nears its conclusion, Yuji Itadori has the potential to demonstrate the true peak of this technique in the upcoming sequel.
