As a dedicated Pokémon TCG Pocket gamer, mark July 30th on your calendar! That’s when the much-anticipated Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion will drop. The Pokémon Company has spilled the beans about all the exciting new content that we’ll be getting with this expansion. Can’t wait to dive in!
The new mobile version of the Pokemon Trading Card Game, known as Pokemon TCG Pocket, is designed to offer a simplified and visually engaging experience of the widely popular card game on mobile devices. Its objective is to cater to both novice players who might find the conventional paper card game overly complex, as well as longtime fans. Anticipation for the next expansion of Pokemon TCG Pocket had been growing, with many speculating a release before August, although official confirmation was yet to be made. Previously, the developers had announced an update to the trading system set for July 29th, which fueled speculation about additional content. However, The Pokemon Company has now unveiled the upcoming plans for the mobile game.
Following some recent leaks about the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, the developers have officially announced that the expansion pack, titled “Wisdom of Sea and Sky“, is scheduled to release on July 30th. This exciting update promises intriguing additions for fans, including legendary Pokemon Lugia and Ho-Oh, as well as the first-partner Pokemon Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. In addition, new Trainers from the Johto region will also be introduced in this expansion.

Furthermore, this growth will introduce approximately 200 fresh cards to the Pokemon TCG Pocket collection, along with new Pokemon EX (enhanced versions of regular cards boasting higher stats and advanced abilities). The developer has also unveiled the artwork for some of these upcoming cards. Additionally, the trading system has undergone an overhaul: as of July 30, trades will be executed using shinedust; previously consumed cards are no longer necessary for trading—trade tokens will no longer be used. Instead, players who receive duplicates of cards will now get double the amount of shinedust they would have received before. Players can trade their remaining trade tokens at the in-game shop for hourglass packs until this change takes effect.
Starting July 30th, the Pokemon TCG Pocket will introduce a wishlist feature. This exciting addition lets players showcase which trading cards they desire, with a maximum limit of 20 cards. Three chosen cards will be displayed on the player’s profile for easy viewing. With the Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion just around the corner, players should get ready for all the new content!
