As someone who has been following anime for the better part of three decades, I must say that this year’s Jump Festa lineup has truly outdone itself! It seems like every other day brings new and exciting announcements that have me buzzing with anticipation.

2024 saw the annual Jump Festa happening on December 21st and 22nd, where fans were treated to updates from a multitude of Shonen Jump comics. This grand event is a highlight for the magazine, with Shueishe hosting it annually since 1999.

Fans of popular series such as “One Piece”, “Jujutsu Kaisen”, and “Demon Slayer” had the opportunity to watch all the stage presentations via the Shonen Jump YouTube channel’s official stream. With an influx of updates, it can be confusing to keep track of everything that was announced. To help clarify things, let’s take a closer look at the key news unveiled during the event.

Jujtsu Kaisen, Spy x Family, Dandadan and more on Day 1

Jujutsu Kaisen revealed a teaser visual for season 3, which will cover the Culling game act. They also scheduled the compilation movie that will recap the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc from season 2 for May 2025. At the same time, the official account posted on X/Twitter that the final volume of the manga will include a new epilogue. Gege Akutami also teased that they are working on a new project.

The series “Sakamoto Days” has released a fresh primary trailer before its debut in January. For those unacquainted with this show, it revolves around a man who used to be an assassin, now yearning for a tranquil life filled with family.

Dandadan officially announced that its second season is set to premiere in July 2025, featuring a team of returning key personnel, along with the release of a new trailer.

It’s been announced that the third season of Spy x Family will debut in October 2025, and Kazuaki Shimada, the character designer, revealed a fresh visual for it.

The upcoming anime “Ginpachi-Sensei” by Z-Gumi 3-Nen, which was recently unveiled with a new trailer, has yet to announce its release date (scheduled for 2025). Additionally, it was confirmed that the Shinsegumi arc compilation movie from 2012 will be shown again in Japanese cinemas starting in February. Witch Watch recently unveiled a fresh trailer, confirming its broadcast for two continuous quarters starting from April 2025, which equates to approximately 26 episodes in total.

The Dragon Ball Super manga has not yet been officially confirmed to resume, however, it is set to release a special chapter in February, focusing on Trunks and Goten. Many fans are optimistic that the series will come out of its hiatus in March. Additionally, a new box set containing all 42 volumes of Dragon Ball is being released, featuring two covers – one standard and another designed by famous manga artists. At the panel, two unpublished illustrations depicting Majin Kuu and Majin Duu were revealed, these being drawn by Akira Toriyama himself.

On the second and concluding day, there were major updates about My Hero Academia. The final season is set to air in Fall 2025, and interestingly, an anime adaptation of the Vigilantes spin-off has also been announced for the same year, accompanied by a trailer.

Just as anticipated, we’ve received updates regarding the Chainsaw Man Reze arc movie. The release date is set for 2025, and the primary trailer has been unveiled.

The hit anime “One Piece” has some exciting updates! Starting April 6, the series will air on Sundays, now in the evening hours. Previously scheduled Japanese-Chinese animation will take over the earlier time slot. Additionally, Subaru Kimura will step into the role of Franky, replacing the original voice actor. Creator Eiichiro Oda hinted at a potential new movie, but no official word has been given yet. Lastly, here’s a sneak peek at upcoming episodes from the Egghead arc!

The animated series “Blue Exorcist” recently unveiled a trailer for its upcoming Blue Night Saga, set to air in January. This latest installment will be accompanied by two new theme songs: “Tsukaku” by amazarashi, and “Overlap” by Shiyui.

It’s officially announced that Kaiju No. 8 will return with its second season starting from July 2025. Additionally, a new trailer for the compilation movie has been revealed, set to premiere globally. The Japanese release date is scheduled for March 28, 2025, followed by international showings at a later time.

Ultimately, it was confirmed that the second course will commence on January 2, 2025, as announced by Blue Box, who also unveiled a trailer showcasing the fresh theme songs, “Shikaraba” sung by Macaroni Enpitsu and “Contrast” by TOMOO.
