Since the announcement at the SXSW 2025 panel for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, we’ve been eagerly awaiting the news. Now, Kojima Productions has finally unveiled the release date for Death Stranding 2, which is set to launch on June 26, 2025.
Apart from the announcement of the release date, we’ve also learned some fresh details today. Among these revelations is a newly-released 10-minute trailer and an outline of the contents in the premium Collector’s Edition.
Death Stranding 2’s New Trailer Is Full Of Mysteries

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got to say, although the plot details are sparse, Kojima has slipped in something intriguing for us long-time fans. If you catch the trailer, you’ll spot a character that bears a striking resemblance to one seen in his previous creations. I wouldn’t dream of spoiling it for you!
A while back, there were whispers about Death Stranding 2 featuring a Collector’s Edition, similar to its forerunner, which was indeed confirmed during the event. Now, we have a clear understanding of its contents.

The cost of the Collector’s Edition hasn’t been disclosed yet, but it’s likely to fall within the ballpark of $200 to $250.
With Death Stranding 2 now scheduled to launch in June, the holiday season from Sony seems open for another game. Could that opening be seized by a sequel from Sucker Punch Productions, titled Ghost of Tsushima: Ghost of Yotei? It’s quite possible that it will.
It makes sense that many video game publishers are hesitant to release new games around the same time as Grand Theft Auto 6 due to the massive impact it’s expected to have, potentially overshadowing other releases. However, a large portion of our readers remain skeptical about Rockstar meeting their promised release date. Only time will reveal whether their doubts are justified or not.
The sequel to Death Stranding, titled Death Stranding 2, is set for release on June 26, but exclusively for the PlayStation 5. A PC version should follow a few months later. To give you some context, the original Death Stranding was launched in November 2019, and its PC version became available in July 2020.
