Approximately two years following the debut of “Street Fighter 6”, Capcom plans to launch a version compatible with Switch 2 and an upgrade on June 5, featuring Elena as a downloadable combatant. Simultaneously with the introduction of Switch 2, Capcom will offer a combined package called “Street Fighter 6: Years 1โ2 Fighters Edition” on all platforms, containing the core game and the first two years’ worth of DLC characters.
The forthcoming “Street Fighter 6: Years 1โ2 Fighters Edition” offers the opportunity to play characters like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from SNK’s “Fatal Fury” series, as well as the upcoming DLC character Elena. Having last appeared in the series during “Ultra Street Fighter 4”, Elena showcases a unique fighting style known as Capoeira โ a martial art that originates from West Africa and Brazil, characterized by dance-like movements, swift kicks, and powerful leg strikes to disorient opponents. Furthermore, when Elena is made available, her outfits from “Street Fighter 3” and “Ultra Street Fighter 4” will be included in the game.
On June 5, Street Fighter 6 by Capcom is set to usher in a fresh era with more players joining the fray. As one of the launch titles for the upcoming Switch 2 console, the “Street Fighter 6: Years 1โ2 Fighters Edition” will encompass the main game and all downloadable content (DLC) fighters up to Elena.
Capcom has planned a seven-hour server maintenance session starting June 3 at 10:00 PM Eastern. Upon completion, new outfits for the Year 2 DLC characters will be introduced as part of Street Fighter 6’s June 5 update. However, it is important to note that physical Switch 2 copies of Street Fighter 6 will come on a Game-Key Card, requiring a 50 GB download. The DLC fighters can only be accessed through an expiring voucher, with the validity extending until 2027.
Street Fighter 6’s Elena DLC and Switch 2 Port Launch on June 5
The debut of “Street Fighter 6” on Switch 2 arrives during a bustling period for Capcom’s popular fighting game. Simultaneously, on May 28, a partnership between “Street Fighter 6” and “Monster Hunter Wilds” was established, introducing exclusive cosmetic outfits in the former as downloadable content within “Monster Hunter Wilds”. This collaboration also introduced one of “Street Fighter’s” infamous villains, Akuma, to “Monster Hunter Wilds”, along with a new quest that culminates in players earning the Demon Armor set.

From Elena’s comeback and the release of Street Fighter 6 for Nintendo Switch 2, it’s clear that this game isn’t losing steam. As a new chapter in one of Capcom’s most successful series, we’ll soon find out if Street Fighter 6 can keep its momentum going into its third year.
