Karanda is a powerful, legendary harpy living in the Harpy Nest within Pailune. She’s a challenging boss to fight, not only because she can fly, but also because she’s protected by a swarm of smaller harpies.
Here’s a guide to help you find Karanda and defeat her. We’ll cover the skills and weapons you need to win, so you can easily overcome this challenging flying enemy!
How to Find Karanda in Crimson Desert
- Karanda can be found in the Harpy’s Nest in Pailune in the “Queen of the Skies” Pailune Faction Quest.
- This Faction Quest is under the “Pailune Militia” and only unlocks once you’ve completed enough Pailune Faction Quests.
Before heading to the Harpy’s Nest to battle Karanda, make sure you bring a few key items to help make the fight much simpler.
What to Bring Before Fighting Karanda in Crimson Desert
- Palmar Pills and Recovery Items (Meat Skewers & Braised Meat) continue to be the best items to bring for a boss fight, as you can revive once you die, and spam heal yourself, which also provides Spirit.
- Skills that are essential to this fight include Nature’s Retribution, Focused Shot, and Turning Slash.
- Nature’s Retribution (Spirit Skill Tree in Nature’s Snare) will allow you to absorb damage and reflect it back into Karanda.
- Focused Shot (Spirit Skill Tree that requires Marksmanship Lv2) will allow you to fire hard-hitting arrows at flying targets.
- Turning Slash (Stamina Skill Tree) will help you deal immense damage when Karanda lands, or is forced to land.
When you reach the Harpy Nest, don’t worry about the harpies flying around Karanda. They’re meant to leave you alone, but if they attack, allow Karanda to defeat you and then select “Retry” to calm them down.
How to Beat Karanda in Crimson Desert
- Karanda is a boss who fights from the sky.
- When Karanda is in the air, use L3+R3 and spin the Right Stick clockwise to activate Nature’s Snare.
- After absorbing some of Karanda’s attacks, click R3 to send a laser directly at Karanda.
- Alternatively, use Focused Shot with L2, then L3+R3, then hit R1 to target her with arrows and deal damage.
- Another great way to kill Karanda is to simply wait her out on the ground. Karanda will eventually swoop down and land to kick you, which gives you an opportunity to use Turning Slash (R1+R2) to deal immense damage, and the attack animation ignores her hits.
- Building enough stun will cause Karanda to ground herself, opening her up to attacks from your sword until she dies.
- Karanda’s attacks should be dodged and not parried.
- Karanda will fire snow blades at you, which she will then retract, so be sure to dodge both times.
When you defeat Karanda, she’ll drop the “Eye of the Sky,” an item that reveals all the areas on the Pailune map. She also drops two powerful items called Pillar of Wind and Infinite Arrows II, which are Abyss Gears.
