The game development company, Yogscast Games, has shared that the card-focused village construction game, Kaya’s Prophecy, will soon be available for trial during Steam Next Fest.
Developed by Jeremie and Thibaut, Kaya’s Prophecy showcases vibrant visuals and is characterized as a “village building game using cards that also incorporates deckbuilding combat, with the intriguing twist of needing to placate an all-knowing, omnipresent deity.

Admirers of this type of game will find delight in the precision of managing resources, the strategic creation of an ideal deck, and the emotional joy of witnessing their village flourish. However, they must be mindful not to upset their deity who might retaliate by electrocuting someone – all in good fun!
In the world of this game as a gamer, I find myself leading a growing tribe. As we progress, I unlock new wonders that enhance our village lifestyle, always with the blessings of my deity. I craft ingenious technologies, tools, and structures to foster a prosperous community. The allure of unexplored lands beckons, where undiscovered materials and rewards await the daring among us. My tribe members and I venture forth, ready to conquer new territories if our courage holds steady.
Living under an all-powerful Deity isn’t just about doom and dread. Sure, our village might face destructive weather events at times, but those who remain devout are richly blessed. By consistently providing offerings to our Gods, we reap numerous benefits for our community. Considering that a significant portion of our food supply is spared in exchange for protection, it seems like a fair trade, doesn’t it?
Contestants can test their skills by living through a ruthless wilderness adventure, equipped solely with a pack of playing cards and a few sacrificial offerings for their tribe, all while vying for victory. However, they must ensure that their deity remains content… in other words, maintain favorable divine relations.
The prophetic game “Kaya’s Prophecy” will soon be available on Steam for personal computers. Excitingly, a demo of this game will debut during the Steam Next Festival in February, commencing on the 24th.
