Kingdom Come 2 Players Unlock Hardcore Mode Early with Hidden Command

Summary

  • Hardcore Mode for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be accessed early via a PC console command.
  • The mode has yet to be officially released, which means players may encounter bugs and performance issues.
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Hardcore Mode removes numerous UI elements and gives players negative perks to choose from.

A Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 player has discovered a new console command that allows fans to access the upcoming Hardcore Mode before its official release. Similar to its predecessor, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s new Hardcore Mode will allow players to increase the game’s difficulty by removing certain UI elements, equipping numerous negative perks, and more.

There’s currently no confirmed release date for the mode, but Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 players were treated to a massive update last week. Patch 1.2 was deployed on March 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, bringing over 1,000 new bug fixes, improvements, and features. While PC players now have access to mods via Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s Steam Workshop, fans on all platforms can now check out the new barber feature, which allows players to customize Henry’s look with new hairstyles and beard options. The latest patch was the game’s first major update, but there’s still plenty more to come.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Hardcore Mode Can Already Be Accessed

Developer Warhorse Studios has already pulled back the curtain on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s Hardcore Mode, but some players have worked out how to access it right now. In a new post on Reddit, user aall137906 discovered that Hardcore Mode is already available in-game and can be accessed via a specific console command. Unfortunately, this is only possible on the game’s PC version, as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S users cannot input console commands. According to the user, players simply need to type in the command “wh_sys_GameModeSelecting = 1” and then choose to start a new game. Players should then be given the option to start the new game in Hardcore Mode.

It is worth mentioning that this is possibly an early version of the mode, which means players who opt to use Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s console commands to access it will likely encounter some bugs, glitches, or performance issues. Those who want to play Hardcore Mode as it was intended to be played should wait for the official release, which is expected sometime in the Spring, according to Warhorse Studios’ post-launch roadmap.

With numerous free content updates still to come, including the highly anticipated Hardcore Mode and a new horse racing feature, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 fans have plenty to look forward to. If numerous free updates aren’t enough, Warhorse Studios has also confirmed three DLC expansions for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released throughout 2025. The first, which will be known as “Brushes with Death,” will be released in the Summer, followed by “Legacy of the Forge” in Autumn, and finally, “Mysteria Ecclesia” in Winter. Exact details, such as price, content, or release date, for the DLCs are currently unknown, but fans can expect more information to be revealed in the build-up to their launch.
