As players delve into the realm of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, they’ll encounter a multitude of diverse Non-Player Characters (NPCs) and locations that breathes authenticity into the gameplay experience.

Regardless of whether players are delving into the realm of Bohemia or finding themselves immersed in some captivating storylines within the game, there’s plenty to keep them busy alongside Henry as they familiarize themselves with the game.

Despite being in a war-ravaged territory, Henry isn’t barred from experiencing love. In truth, he ranks among the kingdom’s most sought-after bachelors, and gamers will discover this rather swiftly as they delve into the game.

When you figure out how to court NPCs, learn their potential rewards, and discover who is available for romantic relationships, the game presents an entirely fresh dimension for you to delve into and explore.

If you’re finding it challenging to court your preferred character, this guide offers assistance. Utilize this guide to help you select the most suitable characters for an enjoyable gaming experience throughout your journey.

How Romance Works In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

In this game, there are multiple methods for developing romantic relationships with Non-Player Characters (NPCs). You might aim for a long-term relationship with someone such as Katherine or a brief flirtation with Black Bartosch. To successfully pursue any of these NPCs, it’s crucial to familiarize yourself with their unique personalities and characteristics.

Whenever players encounter a dialogue choice accompanied by a heart and hand symbols, it signifies an opportunity for the character to flirt with the NPC, potentially leading to the blossoming of a romantic relationship.

Here are the main ways to romance characters:

  • Choose the correct dialogue options.
  • Always speak to them when they’re available.
  • Complete any quests that pertain to the NPC.

If players do this, they will be able to romance the many options in the game.

To put it in my own words, not every character in these games can be paired with anyone you fancy. Some relationships are strictly limited, so it’s essential to choose wisely when deciding who to pursue romantically.

Here are the mutually exclusive romance options:

Option 1 Option 2
Black Bartosch Johanka
Hans Katherine

Romance Options With No Requirement

While most romances require Henry to put in some effort, there are a few that don’t.

Here’s a breakdown of the two that players don’t need to do anything special for:

  • Bathhouse Romances: If players want to, they can pay extra to have one of the women working at the bathhouses bathe with Henry during his baths. These aren’t really that special, but they let players obtain the romance perks without putting in the effort.
  • Teresa: This is Henry’s main love interest from the first game. Teresa can remain as your partner in the second game, but only if you reject the advances of everyone else and stay true to your love, who is left at home during the events of the game.

Henry gets the “Time Well Spent” advantage when he spends the night with an NPC. This temporarily increases his Strength, Agility, and Vitality by 1 each. Although it doesn’t last forever, this bonus can be quite helpful. I suggest enjoying a romantic evening at the bathhouse occasionally to acquire this advantage.

Black Bartosch Romance Guide

Black Bartosch is a character within the game who can be pursued romantically during the mission titled “For Victory,” which is the ninth one available. To pursue this relationship, gamers must engage with him during that specific quest and go through all of his conversation choices by selecting the appropriate options.

  1. “What about the local girls?”
  2. “I reckon I know what you’re getting at.”
  3. “Alright, but maybe later?”
  4. “Shall we spend the rest of the evening alone?”

Following their shared task, Henry and Black are set to depart together, implying they might spend a romantic evening together. This relationship appears casual, lacking substantial impact on the narrative.

During the feast, players can choose to form a romantic connection with either Black Bartosh or Johanka, but not both simultaneously as they are not compatible with each other in this context.

Doubravka Romance Guide

Among the initial non-player characters (NPCs) who players can potentially form romantic relationships with, Doubravak stands out. However, it’s worth noting that this romance is unique because it only happens once, and some players might find Doubravak a bit uncomfortable as a love interest due to her awkwardness in the role.

While on the fifth quest titled “Wedding Crashers” within the game, I found myself in a unique situation during the wedding event. Heading towards the tranquil garden, I engaged in conversation with Doubravka’s mother. To my surprise, she requested that I share a dance with her daughter, opening up an opportunity to develop romantic feelings.

Later on, you’ll get a chance to dance with Doubravka. While dancing, she might accidentally step on Henry’s feet. If you don’t mind, this incident could lead her to confess her feelings for Henry, thereby opening up the romantic pathway.

Following this sequence, as the wedding continues, the characters will encounter her once more. She will propose spending the night with Henry. Engaging with Doubravka is but a brief interlude and lacks significant impact.

Hans Romance Guide

Hans, being Henry’s closest companion, is among the recurring characters from the initial installment of the series. Consequently, his romantic storyline endures longer than the others throughout the gameplay experience.

Initially, Hans and Henry appeared to have differing views, but soon developed a strong friendship. It’s fascinating to observe their bond evolve, making Hans an intriguing character with potential romantic prospects.

To connect with Hans, players should carefully select multiple distinct options. Whenever a heart symbol appears in his conversation, it is crucial for the player to choose that option.

  1. Say “I care about you” during the “Back in the Saddle” quest.
  2. Say “We’ll manage it together.” during “Taking French Leave.”
  3. Consistently chose the option with a heart.
  4. During “Hunger and Despair,” be sure to visit Hans while he’s sitting on his bed.
  5. During that scene, players can listen to his story and kiss him.

Hans and Katherine are mutually exclusive. Players can only romance one of them at the end.

Johanka Romance Guide

Johanka is one of the nobles sitting at the table during the “For Victory!” quest.

Speaking to them triggers a requirement for players to successfully complete two distinct ability checks. If they succeed, Johanka invites them to step out onto the balcony with her for the night.

This brief romance, unfortunately, lacks depth compared to others, providing minimal immersion for players in the romantic dynamics.

Ensure you’ve wrapped up all your desired tasks first, as once you interact with her, the game progresses to the following day automatically.

During the festivities, players will find that they can only develop a romantic interest with either Black Bartosh or Johanka, as their affections do not overlap.

Katherine Romance Guide

Katherine is a significant female character within the game. To win her affection, much like with Hans, players must skillfully play their hand.

Throughout the game, it’s essential to develop a romantic interaction with Katherine, not just at a crucial point. Her romance is complex and involves multiple aspects, which makes her an appealing choice for the most engaging romance, alongside Hans.

Even though Hans provides a bit more for the players, given his strong bond with Henry, Katherine conceals some unexpected qualities that make her an excellent pick.

Here are some important things to do and keep in mind:

  1. During the quest “The Fifth Commandment,” be sure to let Katherine kill the serial killer.
  2. Complete the quest “The Stalker” before finishing the quest entitled “The Lion’s Den.” If you don’t, you won’t be able to complete it later.
  3. Ask Zizka about Katherine’s past during the “Hunger and Despair” quest.
  4. If players follow all of these steps, right before Henry leaves Suchdol Castle, he will go and speak to Katherine, allowing players to kiss her.

Hans and Katherine are mutually exclusive. Players can only romance one of them at the end.

Klara Romance Guide

Klara is a character who serves as a healer, and she becomes accessible to players following their agreement to a duel, within the quest known as “Back in the Saddle.

If Henry decides to engage in the duel, he should then make his way to Klara’s cabin for healing. Once healed, he may begin cultivating feelings for Klara. Their romance is developing but it doesn’t reach the depth or complexity seen in Hans’ and Katherine’s relationships.

  1. Go to Klara to be healed after the duel.
  2. Help Klara gather her herbs and flowers while listening to her.
  3. Help her again during the quest “The Finger of God.”
    1. Heal Mark by cleaning his wounds with and then dressing his wound with a .
    2. Heal Zwerk by cleaning his wounds with Schnapps, dressing his wound with a bandage, and then rubbing a on his ankle. Finally, give him some .
  4. Speak to Klara, and she will tell you to meet her later that night. Once done, a cutscene will start, showing the end of the romance.

Lousy Mary Romance Guide

Lousy Mary is a character that players will meet in the quest “Into the Underworld.”

She spends time at the bathhouses and can form a romantic bond with Henry just once throughout the journey; following this instance, she becomes unavailable for further romance. To be frank, their relationship isn’t among the stronger options.

To romance her, follow these steps:

  1. Speak to her at the bathhouse in Kuttenberg.
  2. Offer to drink with her.
  3. Offer to have some fun with her.

Margaret Romance Guide

In a different phrase, Margaret’s romantic storyline asks players to put in that little bit extra effort. Compared to other brief romantic encounters, Margaret offers players a chance to explore her relationship more thoroughly.

Assisting Margaret initially with some tasks is essential as it allows players to become familiar with her and potentially cultivate affection towards her character. Firstly, they should aid Margaret in freeing herself from her present situation, followed by assisting her in pulling off a heist.

Here’s a breakdown of how to win her heart:

  1. Travel to the mill that is located between Bylany and Old Lhota.
  2. There, players will hear someone screaming for help (this is Margaret).
  3. Help her escape the mill by either lying to the miller or paying her fine.
  4. Find her between Miskowitz and Kuttenberg after the mill events.
    1. She is found outside an inn and the innkeeper will tell you that there is a woman begging for money outside.
  5. Help her rob the nobleman in Kuttenberg to solve her money problems.
    1. The easiest way is to pour a Sleeping Potion into his drink while he is away.
    2. Once he drinks it, follow him and grab him when he passes out.
    3. Take him to Margaret so she can deal with him.
  6. Speak to her as soon as she deals with the nobleman. During this dialogue, select the option “I won’t forget (kiss).”

After sharing a kiss with her, it might lead to her secretly taking some of your funds, which would ultimately signal that she may not be the distressed lady needing aid as you initially thought, but possibly someone with dishonest intentions.

Rosa Romance Guide

In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Rosa is the final character the player can develop a romantic relationship with. You’ll encounter her while completing the quest called “Taking French Leave.” During this mission, you will be introduced to both Rosa and her father for the first time.

Upon encountering Rosa, players must finish her personal mission first before any romantic involvement can start. Regrettably, similar to all other romance possibilities except for Hans and Katherine, Henry’s relationship with Rosa is brief.

When you’re faced with the choice between Henry’s two primary affections, you find that Rosa isn’t around anymore. This implies that pursuing a relationship with her won’t exclude you from other possibilities, making it an appealing option if you’re interested in a casual romance.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Complete the “Rosa’s Book” side quest during “Taking French Leave.”
    1. To do this, players will need to find Rosa’s book in Maleshov while looking for Hans.
    2. This book is found in the room next to Hans, so it is easy to grab while you’re there.
  2. Help Rosa write her story for the book. Pick these dialogue options:
    1. A woman.
    2. She should be clever.
    3. Only fools say that.
    4. Good intent.
    5. If only there were more such books.
    6. It’s pretty, really.
    7. I’d like to get to know you better sometime.
  3. During the quest “Dancing With the Devil,” be sure to save Rosa by not burning down the tower and heading -inside to save her.
  4. Speak to Rosa during the “Oratores” quest and ensure her that Henry will rescue the lords. During this conversation, the dialogue options with the heart beside them will allow you to romance her.
  5. Kiss her at the end of this scene.
