Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 devs want to “establish ourselves as the new kings of RPG,” and the studio’s future “will definitely be immersive RPGs”

Warhorse Studios, the team behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, aims to become a leading RPG developer, focusing on creating deeply immersive role-playing experiences in all their future games.

If you were worried Warhorse Studios might suddenly switch gears after the success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – perhaps to create a fast-paced, building-focused game – you can rest easy. They’re planning to continue making RPGs, and likely ones that are just as good as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Warhorse’s Tobi Stolz-Zwilling, speaking at a preview of the upcoming Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC, explained that the reason he’s hoping their RPG wins a Golden Joystick award is simply to deliver on a single promise to fans.

As a huge fan of Warhorse Studios, it’s awesome to hear how passionate they are about RPGs! They really see themselves as leaders in the genre, and they’ve developed a unique style that they’re sticking with. I’m so excited because they’ve promised their next game will be another deeply immersive RPG experience, and that’s exactly what I love about their games!

Before Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 launched, if Warhorse had made claims about its quality, they might have seemed far-fetched. While the first Kingdom Come was a good, visually impressive RPG for its time, the sequel is significantly better. If Warhorse continues to improve on its strengths with future games, they could become a major RPG developer, joining the ranks of studios like Larian, Bethesda, and CD Projekt Red.
