Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has simple but brilliant anti-cheat: Henry’s enthusiasm gets in the way of stealing and sneaking behind enemies’ backs

While Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 does not employ an anti-cheat system in the traditional sense, it does incorporate a feature designed to prevent players from exploiting some of its fundamental aspects, acting as a form of built-in cheat deterrent.

Photo mode allows cheating?

In discussing the development of KCD 2, we felt it necessary to incorporate the widely appreciated “photo mode” from modern video games. This innovative tool allows players to freely adjust and rotate the camera, providing them with the best possible viewpoint when capturing a screenshot.

Although the camera’s range of motion is restricted, surprisingly, it still allows us to glimpse beyond corners, enabling us to uncover information that would otherwise remain hidden. This is how we can catch guards who Henry wouldn’t be able to observe during regular circumstances.

In covert areas, this feature proves incredibly helpful, say, when attempting to pilfer significant items. With the photo mode, one can verify during such situations whether anyone is drawing near, thus providing a bit of warning, alas, only if Henry hadn’t compromised our efforts.

Anti-cheat Henry

When the photo-taking feature is deactivated, the primary figure exclaims his admiration quite audibly, aiming to acknowledge our ingenuity. Henry’s booming voice has the potential to rouse slumbering guards and draw the notice of passersby in the surrounding area.

In a clever move to prevent players from using the photo mode as a means of cheating, the team at Warhorse Studios came up with an innovative approach that has left gamers thrilled instead. Players have not criticized the developers for this restriction, but rather, they are enthusiastic about the creative solution and can’t wait to share their experiences related to it.

The sequel to “Kingdom Come: Deliverance,” titled “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2,” was launched a month back, specifically on February 4, 2025, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Not long ago, the developers unveiled some fresh details regarding the forthcoming challenging mode for this game.
