Kingdom Two Crowns: How To Destroy Portals

As a seasoned gamer with over a decade of experience under my belt, I must say that Kingdom Two Crowns has been one of the most captivating games I’ve played recently. The tower defense aspect, while integral to the story, doesn’t overshadow the core city building gameplay. It’s not just about defending your kingdom; it’s about taking back what rightfully belongs to you from Greed.

In Kingdom Two Crowns, the tower defense element plays a significant role in shaping the narrative, but it’s essential to remember that it’s fundamentally a city-building game. As a player, you won’t only be defending your kingdom against incoming enemy waves; instead, you’ll also need to counterattack and reclaim from Greed the lands that rightfully belong to you.

Greed is the entity that sends out its troops to fight the player at night. If you want to win the game, you’ll need to eradicate its presence from all islands on the map by destroying all of its portals, through which its troops come to attack your kingdom. However, players can’t fight back until they reach a certain point.

Shields For Hire

As a passionate player, I must venture to the second island to unearth precious stones, key resources that will propel my town into the Stone Age! This transition grants me access to valiant squires. Once my town center reaches tier 6, I can acquire shields – these protective emblems are then wielded by my villagers, transforming them into noble squires. With a total of four shields, two on each side of the map, I’ll be well-prepared to face Greed with renewed vigor!

The archer teams you recruit will lead them and can be instructed to initiate an assault on gates. Providing additional gold to your squires enables them to maintain their protective barriers for a longer duration; they’ll lose coins rather than their shields when confronted by goblins known as greedlings.

Gather Your Troops

When you’ve got your knights and troops under your control, you can initiate an assault on the fortifications encircling your realm. To carry this out, navigate to the furthest edge of your stronghold, where a noticeable sign awaits your action. Here, spend four coins to dispatch a unit. If you possess two units, you can send them sequentially. You can station two units on opposite sides of the wall until one side is completely cleared.

In order to call off a deployment following an attack, you must have previously constructed an enhanced fortification equipped with a Horn.

As a gamer, I lead a team comprising one squire armed with a shield and a few agile archers. We’re heading straight for the closest gateway. When we strike, the gateway retaliates by spawning little monsters known as Greedlings to fight us back. If my squire exhausts his reserve of gold, he loses his protective shield during an attack, and our team disbands. My archers scurry back behind the safety of the wall, while my squire reverts to a common villager.

The harm inflicted on the portal persists, meaning it remains unaffected by your subsequent assaults. To fully obliterate it, you’ll have to gradually wear it down piece by piece.

Tips For Successful Attacks Against Portals In Kingdom Two Crowns

Move In With Overwhelming Power

In the initial stages, it can be challenging for players to mount effective offensives against the Greed. To boost your chances of success when planning an assault, consider these key points:

  • Expand Your Kingdom: To make sure that your squad reaches the portal as soon as possible, players should expand as much as they comfortably can. This means building the outer walls of your settlement as close to the portal as possible without triggering it. Doing so will ensure that your attacking party won’t get caught out by the nightly wave, and they’ll be able to retreat with minimal casualties if the squire falls in battle.
  • Optimal Timing: The best time to send out your army is right after the nightly wave. This gives you the most time before the next night’s wave, avoiding any unnecessary casualties.
  • Squad Size: If you don’t have enough archers, your squad will be underequipped to handle the threat of the Greed. Make sure you have enough archers for the squad you’re about to send out. Otherwise, you won’t be able to deal enough damage to the portal before your squire falls in battle.
  • Activate the Archer Statue: Make sure you activate the archer statue on the first island. This will give a boost to all your archers, no matter the island, increasing your damage output quite a lot.
  • Deployment Strategy: Send out both of your squads at once. If you have cleared one side of the kingdom, send out the third and fourth squads as well to minimize the amount of time you need to finish off the portal. The more firepower you have, the better.
  • Pay Raise: Make sure you give some gold coins to your squires. This way, they don’t lose their shields when they die. Instead, they will lose a few coins. If you want to destroy the portal without any deaths on your side at all, go along with the attacking party and drop multiple coins where your squires are holding the line. This way, they can replenish the coins they lose and continue fighting longer. Whenever they lose coins, give them more to keep them alive longer. Don’t worry, the greedlings won’t steal the coins unless you drop them closer to the portal than to the squires.

Rewards For Destroying Portals

Teleport Where You’re Needed

After demolishing a portal, your team will return to headquarters. Instead of rebuilding the same portal, players have the option to set up a teleporter for 8 coins. Upon completion, the leader can engage with this device to position its matching unit anywhere on the map. When activated, the player will be transported to that location.

After a twin has been positioned, players are not allowed to move it to a different spot. However, if you want to transport it again, simply spend another pair of coins from any of its current positions. This facilitates traveling between the two halves of the kingdom greatly, making it more convenient.
