As a seasoned gamer and Death Stranding enthusiast who’s been through countless gaming cycles since the days of the original Metal Gear Solid, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation that’s borderline palpable. Hideo Kojima’s latest teaser has once again sent the fandom into a frenzy, this time with the silhouette of Japanese actor Kenjiro Tsuda.

Hideo Kojima keeps generating excitement for Death Stranding 2 through the sharing of a new actor’s shadowy teaser image on platform X.

Fans of anime and Death Stranding swiftly identified that the silhouette resembled the Japanese actor, Kenjiro Tsuda.

Notably, Tsuda has lent his voice to various popular anime series, such as JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Chainsaw Man, and My Hero Academia. Additionally, he provided the Japanese voice for Sam Porter in the initial release of Death Stranding.

It’s uncertain if Tsuda will reprise his Japanese dubbing role or take on a more significant part in the game’s storyline, possibly as a newly introduced character.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but draw parallels between Kojima’s recent announcement and the one where we saw Elle Fanning’s silhouette. It seems that Fanning’s character is pivotal to the sequel’s storyline, so much so that if she had declined the offer, he might have needed to rework the entire plot.

As a devoted gaming enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement since Gamescom kicks off on August 21st! With Hideo Kojima recently dropping some mysterious clues, it’s got me wondering if we might be in for a surprise – perhaps a trailer or an exciting announcement from him.

In summary, Kojima is the creator of the Metal Gear series, and just like the stories in his games, his actions are open to interpretation. Until he makes an official appearance, there’s no definite information; however, if he fails to show up, this absence could only fuel further excitement for his confirmed appearance at the Tokyo Game Show.

The sequel to “Death Stranding,” titled “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach,” is expected to launch on PlayStation 5 in 2025, though the exact date has yet to be announced.

What We Know About Death Stranding 2 Do Far

With Kojima, knowing and understanding are worlds apart. At the moment, the fanbase can agree only on two things, more or less, the title and the unspecified release date.

2022 saw the initial unveiling of the game, but its storyline and play mechanics were sparsely detailed, leaving room for much conjecture among fans.

Once again, Norman Reedus plays the role of Sam Porter, the renowned mailman in gaming, joined by the now matured pod-baby and Fragile from the original game. The upcoming sequel finds Sam navigating a fresh setting that includes towering snow-capped mountains and sprawling deserts as he continues his package delivery duties.

The remainder of the trailer showcases an array of peculiar cults, eerie marches, colossal edifices, enemies reminiscent of a souls-like game, unsettling character designs, and not forgetting the presence of tentacles. Figuring out how everything connects is a task better suited for someone far more intelligent than us.

If you’ve been hoping for Mads Mikkelsen to suddenly appear during Gamescom or in a later trailer for Death Stranding 2, I regret to inform you that this won’t happen. Sadly, Kojima has confirmed that Mikkelsen will not be part of the Death Stranding 2 cast.

“It is because we care about the character of Cliff that he will not appear in DS2.”

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel a spark of anticipation seeing Kojima post a teaser just days before Gamescom. It certainly has us hoping for something big!
