Konami Reports Record Profits and Looks Ahead To What’s Next

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming history under my belt, I must say, Konami has truly outdone themselves this time! The financial update for Q1 FY25 is nothing short of impressive, especially the record-breaking sales and the phenomenal performance of eFootball 2024.

Recently, Konami shared their financial report for the first quarter of their fiscal year 2025 (April 1 to June 30). The numbers presented a promising picture. Notably, during this initial quarter of FY25, Konami surpassed previous highs, demonstrating a significant increase in sales by approximately 24% compared to the same period last year.

Looking forward, Konami has laid out their future plans, revealing an impressive lineup of upcoming premier games that are part of a substantial content strategy featuring some major contenders.

In the latest financial report, it was disclosed that digital sales surged by 33.4% compared to the previous year, with eFootball 2024 being singled out as a key contributor to this growth. Additionally, the company celebrated the success of Yu-Gi-Oh!’s 25th anniversary celebrations, noting that the sale of related merchandise remains strong.

Moving ahead, this diversification in our portfolio will be fueled by the company itself. In a part of their latest financial report, Konami emphasized future plans, such as the release of Silent Hill 2 remake on October 8 and the debut of CYGNI, a fresh title launching on August 6. The upcoming CYGNI is a side-scrolling shooter game that strives to modernize an old-fashioned genre.
