Kong Elder’s Rehearsal Hall Balloons and Bananas in Donkey Kong Bananza

After completing the main adventure in Donkey Kong Bananza, I get the chance to meet with the five Elders scattered throughout the Layers. This interaction helps me unlock additional Banandium Gems, gain new abilities for my Bananza transformations, and discover even more content!

As a devoted fan, I’d say: If you chat with Kong Elder in the Lagoon Layer (and have amassed 300 Gems), you’ll get the chance to join Kong Elder’s Rehearsal Hall – a demanding trail! Hidden within are a total of 10 Bananas and five elusive balloons. If you manage to find all the balloons, you’ll be rewarded with a music disc. This guide will help you locate the Banandium Gems and the secret balloons.

In this class, you’ll be taking on the role of Kong Bananza, but fortunately, there’s no need to fret over any potential power shortages.

Kong Elder’s Rehearsal Hall Balloons and Bananas in Donkey Kong Bananza

Banana 1 – Past the First Scrappin’ Ground

Easily enough, just pass the first Scrappin’ Ground section to earn this Banandium Gem.

Banana 2 – First-Scrap Detour

As soon as you pick up the Banandium Gem for the first time, glance at the wall to your left. You’ll notice a questionable area there that you can hit. Strike the blue balloon to arrange the monsters, then execute a Dive Punch on the switch to eliminate all enemies simultaneously. The banana will materialize near the entrance afterward.

Balloon 1

In the coming battlefield, locate the towering column to your right, which is near DK’s entry point, for there you will discover an adversary holding a floating balloon. Overcome this enemy to gather the initial balloon in the level.

Balloon 2

Upon reaching the Second Destruction Yard, bypass the initial zone with explosives using your Power Punch to clear the serpent-like monsters. Proceed through the entrance to access the next region. Knock out the bombs situated on the right side of the area to uncover a concealed nook that you can burst open to reach the floating object.

Banana 3 – Past the Second Scrappin’ Ground

As the title of the Banandium Gem indicates, you can obtain it by successfully completing the second part of the Scrappin’ Ground level.

Banana 4 – Lift and Destroy

After obtaining the third Banandium Gem, look towards the wall to your left for a punchable spot that leads into the Second-Scrap Detour area. To progress through this side quest, you’ll need to hurl rocks onto platforms and employ your Hand Slap to vanquish the monsters lurking there. Upon successful completion of the mission, you will be rewarded with a banana.

Balloon 3

As you progress to the second segment of the Third Scrappin’ Ground, you will encounter a questionable cube located on the farthest right side. Give it a good whack (provided it doesn’t have those spiky thorns) to uncover the concealed balloon within Kong Elder’s Rehearsal.

Banana 5 – Past the Third Scrappin’ Ground

Just complete the third Scrappin’ Ground section by letting the enemies drop to their deaths.

Banana 6 – Wallop and Destroy

As I reach for Banana #5, turning left leads me to an additional hidden nook. By strategically manipulating the weighty trapdoors, I can entice my foes towards their demise, causing these doors to crush them mercilessly from above.

Balloon 4

In the center of the Scrappin’ Ground area’s fourth section, right smack in the middle, you’ll notice a grid of four spiky columns arranged in a square. The balloon hidden within the column at the upper-left corner is just waiting to be discovered.

Banana 7 – Past the Fourth Scrappin’ Ground

Complete the section with the annoying spiky monsters to get this Banandium Gem.

Banana 8 – Launch and Destroy

After snatching the Banandium Gem from the fourth scrapyard, I veer left to discover a hidden side area. To take care of those explosive foes perched on the pillars, I whack the X button.

Banana 9 – Bounce and Destroy

Once you’ve successfully navigated past the fifth Scrappin’ Ground, take a peek to your left to discover another hidden nook filled with surprises. A Banana awaits you here as a sweet reward! Remember to be precise with your punching attacks to knock those pesky enemies off their platform.

Balloon 5

When you get close to Kong Elder’s Throne and prepare to jump into the barrel for your final destination on the map, head towards the upper-right corner of the structure and smash the wall there to discover a secret balloon.

Banana 10 – Past the Fifth Scrappin’ Ground

Reach the end of the course to get the last Banandium Gem.

What are the Duplicate Ancient Records for in Donkey Kong Bananza?

After successfully completing the course and making your way back to Lagoon Layer, you’ll gain access to a special Golden Kong Bananza ability. However, please note that you won’t be able to use it until you completely upgrade the Skill Tree for the Kong Bananza form.

Apart from the Elder’s jukebox, you’ll obtain a copy of an ancient relic too. This duplicate relic will be placed beside the turntable. At this moment, it seems that the only purpose for this duplicate is to serve as a durable surfboard or melee weapon during your adventures in Lagoon Layer, since there appears to be no other known use for it currently.
