According to a recent court document, the former CEO of Activision Blizzard alleges the Delaware lawsuit was intentionally structured to help Embracer Group. Embracer Group has refuted these claims.
According to GameFile, a lawsuit in Delaware was filed by Sjunde AP-Fonden (AP7), a Swedish pension fund. The fund alleges that the former CEO rushed the acquisition of Activision Blizzard to distract from sexual misconduct allegations surfacing against the company in late 2021. The former CEO has now responded to the lawsuit, which names Microsoft, Activision Blizzard, and several board members, including Bobby Kotick.

So, the old CEO of Activision Blizzard, Bobby Kotick, basically said this lawsuit in Delaware seemed like a sneaky move by Embracer Group. He thinks they were trying to get a stronger grip on the California gaming scene by hurting Activision. He also said it made it way harder for us to bring in new developers and make deals to grow the company – and we’ve always relied on those deals to get bigger and better.
The Embracer Group has refuted statements made by the former Activision Blizzard CEO. They clarified that they didn’t require, and still don’t need, financial assistance from a Swedish pension fund to compete with Activision, even if that’s difficult for the former CEO to believe.
Activision recently updated Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 with a new patch that adjusts several weapons. They’ve also shared their stance on using AI to create in-game content.
