Streamer Kyedae Shymko on Twitch has shared that she will be taking a break from streaming for an undetermined length of time. Famous for her live streams of Valorant, Kyedae has cultivated a dedicated community on Twitch who have witnessed and encouraged her journey as a content creator and gamer over the years.
Beyond the realm of gaming, longtime followers are familiar with Kyedae’s inclination to disclose significant events in her life should she choose to make them public. A notable instance was when Kyedae announced her cancer diagnosis in 2023, followed by undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Despite resuming content creation from her Valorant games, her streaming schedule has shown some irregularity lately.
In the course of this week, Kyedae surprised her audience by declaring at the end of her live broadcast that she’s likely to stay away from streaming for an extended period. She further clarified that she was no longer committed to streaming and would only make occasional appearances moving forward.
Kyedae later shared a detailed message on Twitter, revealing that the thought of quitting streaming had been crossing her mind for quite some time. She acknowledged that streaming wasn’t her initial aspiration or ultimate aim. She also pointed out several factors such as competing in the Valorant Game Changers tournament and health concerns as reasons driving her decision to step back. Although Kyedae referred to it as an “indefinite hiatus from streaming,” some fans speculate that she may be retiring from streaming as a professional career.
Kyedae Takes Indefinite Break From Twitch
A multitude of Pokimane, TinaKitten, and other Twitch stream followers wish Kyedae well on her upcoming non-streaming venture. Additionally, some are thrilled about Kyedae’s upcoming participation in Game Changers. Though the team for Kyedae’s Game Changers is yet to be revealed, she was previously a member of Disguised’s roster in 2023, joining forces with QuarterJade, Sydeon, and Tenzin for competition.

Many content creators in the past have taken time off from their work due to various reasons such as creative exhaustion or personal matters they choose not to disclose publicly. Notable figures like Jacksepticeye, a well-known YouTuber, have occasionally stepped away from the platform to focus on his mental health and other ventures. Initially producing daily videos for an extended period, he eventually opted to upload only when he felt inclined, rather than adhering to a set quota. Similarly, Pokimane, a prominent streamer on Twitch, has been open about her fluctuating streaming schedule over the years. This is largely due to her commitment to balancing her personal life and outside projects.
