Last Chance: Pokopia Players Should Mark Their Calendars for March 26

Cozy game players love being able to personalize their experience, and Pokemon Pokopia has become popular by letting them do just that. The game offers a lot of freedom with its island building and features unique Pokemon designs, all focused on letting players express themselves. Now, that personalization extends even further with special, changing icons available as rewards for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. But unfortunately, these rewards won’t last forever.

Players of Pokemon Pokopia don’t have much time left to get a special, limited-time reward! The final set of Nintendo Switch Online icons is launching soon, but it won’t be available for long. Previous icon sets have already disappeared, and this current batch will only be available from March 26th to April 1st. After that, it’s gone, so this is the last chance to collect the complete set.

Pokopia’s Nintendo Switch Icon Waves Have Been Worth the Effort

The collectible icons for Pokopia really capture the game’s unique and charming style. The first sets included popular Pokémon like Ditto and Pikachu, but later releases added characters original to Pokopia, such as Peakychu, Mosslax, and Smearguru. These were joined by the human-like versions of Ditto that players use throughout the game, and have quickly become a signature part of Pokopia.

Each update has included new profile pictures, backgrounds, and borders, letting players personalize their online appearance. Now with the fourth and final update – featuring Smearguru and a human-form Ditto – it’s obvious that Pokopia held back some of its most popular designs for the very end.

How to Claim Pokopia’s Nintendo Switch Icons

Similar to other Nintendo Switch Online perks, these icons aren’t automatically given to you or found in the system settings. You’ll need a current Nintendo Switch Online subscription and enough My Nintendo Platinum Points to unlock them.

  1. Open the Nintendo Switch Online app directly from the console’s home screen.
  2. Navigate to the “Missions & Rewards” section.
  3. Ensure you have enough Platinum Points to redeem what you would like. Only wave four icons will be available. If you do not have enough, refer to the list below.
  4. Redeem icon elements, which are split into characters, frames, and backgrounds
  5. Customize the icon to display it on your profile.

Each Pokopia item costs 10 Platinum Points, and backgrounds or frames to customize your icon are 5 Platinum Points each. These Pokopia items won’t be available forever – once they’re gone from the rotation, we can’t promise they’ll return.

Platinum Points aren’t just for digital rewards like icons. You can actually redeem them for physical items like bandanas, ornaments, cards, and collectibles from various Nintendo franchises. These items typically cost between 300 and 800 Platinum Points. Specifically for Pokopia fans, there’s a popular Ditto notebook available for 500 points, but it’s currently only offered in the My Nintendo Rewards stores in Europe and the UK.

Nintendo Platinum Points Earning Strategies

These icons are highly sought-after collectibles, and they’re still a great value even at their affordable price. Nintendo Platinum Points aren’t easy to earn—many players with years of experience and a Nintendo Switch Online membership only have a few hundred Points. Some have noticed it’s become harder to earn Points since Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was discontinued. But with the right approach, anyone can get enough Points to unlock a Pokopia icon.

  • Keep an eye on the weekly missions. With these, players can earn up to 70 Points.
  • There is a weekly sign-in mission that can help players purchase Pokopia icons with some frames and backgrounds for customization. By signing in, players can earn 30 Points.
  • Keep an eye on games you might already own. Mario Run tasks and Fire Emblem Heroes story progression result in one-time earnings, but they can stack up hundreds of points in just one go.

March 26 Starts a Ticking Clock That Pokopia Players Shouldn‘t Miss Out On

As a big fan, I’m a little stressed! The final set of Pokopia icons is dropping on March 26th, and that means we don’t have much time left to finish collecting them all. While they’ll technically be available until April 1st, March 26th feels like the last real chance for those of us who’ve been following these releases to get everything we want.

Nintendo regularly updates the icons available in its games, switching between different themes, characters, and franchises each month. While some themed icon sets, like the one from Pokopia, are only available for a limited time, so if you don’t get them during the promotion, you might not be able to get the best designs at all.

These little icons really add to the game’s charm and sense of home. Whether you choose a simple Ditto face or one of the adorable Pokopia Pokemon, they’re a fun way to show off your love for this relaxing world even when you’re not playing.
