Latest Black Ops 6 Update Addresses All Your Biggest Issues

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that Treyarch and Activision have once again delivered a solid Call of Duty title with Black Ops 6. The recent patch has been a breath of fresh air, addressing some much-needed tweaks to the gameplay mechanics.

For over a week now, Black Ops 6 has been available for gaming enthusiasts, who have been actively engaged in battling it out with diverse challenges ranging from Skill-Based Matchmaking to the yearly camouflage challenge grind. Generally, the game is being positively received by the community, but there are minor problems that are being consistently resolved by Treyarch and their team.

The latest Black Ops 6 patch has applied a few tweaks that will help to fix some of these issues.

Early Changes

Even though Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has just been released a week ago, the teams at Activision are actively making adjustments in various directions to improve gameplay.

The latest update has increased the difficulty for users to perform a rapid adjustment of their position, often referred to as “dodging” or “weaving.” This movement allows them to bob up and down, making them challenging targets because they’re hard to hit consistently, especially when they’re hiding behind cover. For those attempting to engage them, it becomes quite challenging to score consecutive hits due to their evasive maneuvers.

In simpler terms, Treyarch has modified flashbangs to make you less disoriented for as much as 20% shorter duration. This change significantly reduces the issue of repeated flashbanging, a problem frequently encountered in compact maps like Nuketown, particularly among players utilizing the Tactical Expert setting.

In other areas, the developers have adjusted the effective damage zone for Submachine Guns to be more potent at greater distances. On the flip side, they’ve decreased the range of Assault Rifles and weakened their headshot effectiveness in close quarters, which may not align with your expectations.

They’ve modified the respawn mechanism on multiple maps and made Nuketown available for private play, allowing you to seriously pursue easter eggs now. The power of shotgun slugs has been reduced, and Recon has been significantly toned down, making it far less effective. This should reduce many complaints about ‘wallhacking’.

If you’re wondering about the experience points (XP) you’ll be earning during this Double XP weekend, Treyarch has made some adjustments to both Player XP and Weapon XP acquisition rates across different game modes.

Basically, nothing was done to change Zombies because it’s already kind of perfect.
