LCS Announces American League: The LTA

LCS Announces American League: The LTA

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of League of Legends under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and curiosity about the upcoming LTA (League of Legends Championship of the Americas). The idea of a league that brings together the best teams from Brazil, Latin America, and North America is music to my ears.

Today marks the unveiling of a fresh competition circuit specifically for the League of Legends community in the Americas. Dubbed as the “League of Legends Tournament of the Americas,” or LTA, this new league will prioritize teams hailing from North and South America.

Here is everything we know.

LCS Announces the LTA: Every Region Involved and More

In summary, the fresh LTA collection will encompass three distinctly competitive zones: Brazil, Latin America, and North America. These areas will unite under a single banner, the Americas league, which will showcase top-tier squads and athletes from each zone.

The LTA will begin in 2025.

All Conferences

As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the League of Legends Tournament (LTA) is going to be split into two unique conferences, each hosting live audiences in Riot Games arenas. One conference will take place in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, while another will unfold in the energetic São Paulo, Brazil.

All LTA North Teams:

  • Cloud9
  • Team Liquid Honda
  • Flyquest
  • Shopify Rebellion
  • Dignitas
  • 100 Thieves
  • Lyon Gaming
  • Disguised

A few of the teams you see here aren’t permanently established members of the league, but rather temporary guests called Provisional Teams. They don’t have a secured spot in the league yet.

All LTA South Teams:

  • Fluxo
  • Furia
  • Loud
  • Pain Gaming
  • Red Canids Kalunga
  • Vivo Keyd Stars
  • Leviatan
  • Isurus

As a gamer, I’m excited about the extra freedom the LTA is giving us! Now, we can pick one teammate from anywhere in the Americas and consider them a local resident. This means we can join matches across different regions, expanding our gaming horizons!

The majority of competitors, however, will not be able to compete from outside their home region.

All Splits

The show’s schedule includes three separate segments, distributed across the year. Each segment will come with a distinct and exclusive set of regulations, unlike any others.

All splits will include different tournament formats, with some being Round Robins while others will be double-elimination, etc.

Finals

Where Finals are held will alternate throughout the year. Split 1 will have its Finals in Brazil will Split 3 will have its Finals in North America. This will flip-flop going into 2026.

Though some details might seem perplexing at present, League of Legends esports has hinted they will disclose further info about the LTA in due course.
