In simple terms, Riot Games has announced that Vi, a beloved character from ‘Arcane’, will be playable in the upcoming fighting game called ‘2XKO’ during its PC Closed Beta starting on September 9. Excitingly, this means League of Legends enthusiasts can engage in 2v2 battles using their preferred characters against other players, as Riot Games prepares for the release of ‘2XKO’.
Riot Games keeps growing the universe of its flagship and widely played MOBA game, League of Legends, by launching titles within this world over time. For instance, they’ve given us Teamfight Tactics (2019), Legends of Runeterra (2020), and Wild Rift (2020). Additionally, the studio created an animated series, Arcane, enriching the game’s backstory and introducing fresh narratives for beloved characters like Vi, Jinx, Warwick, Jayce, Caitlyn, and many others. Currently, they are developing 2XKO, a free-to-play tag-team fighting game that allows players to select two champions, switch between them during the match, and employ unique tag-and-assist features together with multiple movement options. Recently, Riot has shared some thrilling updates about the game’s roster and planned release date for fans to look forward to.
Riot Games has declared that champion Vi will debut on the 2XKO launch roster, allowing players to control her during the game’s Closed Beta on September 9. The beta is accessible worldwide for PC gamers, but Riot cautions about possible technical problems because they’ll be scaling up their backend systems for the first time. To coincide with the announcement, the studio unveiled a brief trailer displaying Vi’s agile moves in combat. As expected, she employs hextech-powered gauntlets to battle her adversary, delivering various punch combinations.
Vi Joins 2XKO Ahead of Closed Beta Launch on September 9
In the debut trailer, Vi’s abilities are demonstrated against previously confirmed characters from 2XKO, including Ekko, Braum, Jinx, and Yasuo. Although the Closed Beta is currently exclusive to PC, Riot Games mentioned that the game offers cross-platform progression, allowing players to begin on PC and continue their saved progress when 2XKO releases for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at a later date. Furthermore, newcomers will have the opportunity to join once the beta commences and throughout its duration.

Additionally, it has been revealed that 2XKO will participate at EVO 2025, held from August 1-3. Attendees will have the opportunity to test a playable demo of the game. In preparation for the event, a “Know Before You Go” guide will be made available. The character roster is expanding with the inclusion of Vi, and considering Riot’s history, it’s possible that more League of Legends characters may join 2XKO in the future.
