From his impressive career in Vietnam’s VCS league to his MVP awards and Rookie of the Split recognition, EGO’s talent was undeniable.

As a devoted fan, I’m deeply saddened to share my personal feelings about the heartbreaking loss of Nguyen ‘EGO’ Khanh Hoa, a beloved figure in Vietnam’s VCS league. On September 5th, at only 21 years old, he passed away following a sudden heart attack. Throughout his career in the League of Legends esports scene, EGO was more than just a player – he represented Team Flash, CERBERUS, and Saigon Buffalo with unparalleled skill and sportsmanship. Rising Star

According to EGO’s biography, this gifted athlete commenced his professional career at the tender age of 17, quickly earning recognition as a sort of prodigy in Vietnam. In his debut competitive season, EGO garnered an MVP honor and clinched a championship title within the VCS – the Vietnam Championship Series. He repeated this triumph in the subsequent year, 2021.

In contrast to his winning run in regional competitions, EGO decided to retire from competing in 2023, a mere four years since his debut. The reasons for his early retirement remain unclear, and this decision was made prior to him securing the opportunity to participate on an international stage.

In 2020, he was honored as the Rookie of the Split due to his remarkable gaming skills. This skilled player, who used to excel in a specific role, will be deeply missed by his loved ones during these challenging times. Our sympathies are extended to his friends and family.
