Fans are getting a first glimpse of the upcoming Elden Ring movie thanks to leaked photos and videos from the set. The live-action adaptation, directed by Alex Garland and produced by A24 and Bandai Namco, is starting to take shape.
Videos started circulating on April 3rd and 4th revealing a large outdoor set built to look exactly like a Church of Marika from the game Elden Ring, complete with other props from the game.
Bandai Namco revealed plans for an Elden Ring movie in May 2025. Garland will be writing and directing the film, which is being made in partnership with A24.
In 2025, reports surfaced that Garland presented a detailed 160-page script, along with 40 pages of visual concepts, for the project. He then traveled to Japan with A24 to get the green light from the game’s creators, FromSoftware, and Bandai Namco. This demonstrated his passion for the source material and reassured fans that the film was in good hands.
What the leaked Elden Ring set footage appears to show
So, it looks like this whole leak started with a TikTok user named THROX – you might know him as @throxtv. He posted a video from what looked like a construction site somewhere in England. Then, he dropped another video from the same spot, which really made people believe it was legit because some folks were starting to think the first one was fake. It’s pretty crazy!
Viewers noticed that the video features a location strikingly similar to the Church of Marika, complete with a large statue that looks just like Queen Marika in the middle of the ruins.
I was checking out some footage, and it looks like they’re using crucifixion stakes – really sets a dark tone, kind of like what you see all over Limgrave. Apparently, all the extra stuff too, like the barrels and wooden carts, was actually filmed on location, according to THROX.
A24 and Bandai Namco haven’t officially responded to the leaked video yet. However, if the set is real, it seems Garland’s movie is strongly inspired by the world of Elden Ring, and is using real-life sets and props to recreate iconic locations and imagery from the game.
