Denis Dyack created the game Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain in 1996, which launched a series of five games over the next seven years. Crystal Dynamics later acquired the rights to the series in the late 1990s, taking over from Dyack. He then went on to direct and produce other games, including Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, and Too Human.
I’m so excited! Tomorrow, Denis Dyack is finally showing off his new game, Deadhaus Sonata! He’s calling it a spiritual successor to Legacy of Kain, which is amazing considering it’s been 30 years since that game! It’s an action RPG being made by Apocalypse Studios, and they just dropped a short trailer online. You can already check it out and wishlist it on Steam – I’ve already added it to my list!
Deadhaus Sonata – ‘The Dead Do Not Sleep Forever’
I was so excited to see the Deadhaus Sonata team finally dropped a little gameplay trailer on social media! It’s been a long wait – they started this project way back in 2018, so it’s awesome to finally get a peek at how the game actually plays. I’ve been following them for ages, and I can’t wait to learn more about this narrative RPG.
Fans of a vampiric tale will be enthused by Deadhaus Sonata’s blurb:
The team behind the Legacy of Kain series is creating a new action RPG. You’ll play as an undead character, and your decisions will impact both your own story and the game world. Strengthen your character by consuming resources, choose from a variety of powerful classes, and explore a mysterious dark world either solo or with a friend.
Deadhaus Sonata doesn’t have a firm release date yet, but more details will be revealed tomorrow. We know it will launch in early access, letting players experience the game as a powerful, supernatural vampire.
They don’t stay dead for long. 🩸 Watch the full trailer January 15th at 1 PM Eastern Time. Premiering on IGN. #DeadhausSonata #LegacyofKain

The marketing spiel for Deadhaus Sonata is ambitious and promises a lot:
Deadhaus Sonata is a dark fantasy world with a rich story and characters. Your choices truly matter, impacting both your character and the world itself. The game features intelligent equipment, ongoing events, and consequences that change based on when, where, and how you act.
You can now add the game to your Steam wishlist, but the game’s website emphasizes it will also be released on all other popular gaming platforms.
