Legendary Giants Are Back in Pokemon GO!

Summary

  • Legendary Giants are returning to Pokemon GO just ahead of GO Fest 2025.
  • The six Legendaries will be available as part of the Ancients Recovered event, running from June 23 to 27.
  • New timed research, global challenge, and rewards will be available over the course of the event.

Legendary Pokémons are making a comeback in Pokemon GO before GO Fest 2025, as announced by Niantic. These powerful creatures will be accessible throughout a five-day Pokemon GO event filled with raids and numerous bonuses.

In the scorching heat of summer 2018, the Epic Behemoths made their debut in the popular mobile game. Compared to the primary Pokémon RPGs, they were relatively simpler to capture. However, chances to acquire them in Pokémon GO remained scarce and hard to come by.

Players of Pokemon GO can look forward to another opportunity to capture Legendary Giants, as they are making a comeback during the upcoming Ancients Recovered event. The event takes place from June 23rd to June 27th. During the initial four days, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regieleki, Regidrago, and Regigigas will appear in raids on a rotating basis. On the final day, all six Legendaries can be obtained.

With the introduction of shiny versions for all Legendary Giants in Pokemon GO, any Legendary showcased during the upcoming event could potentially be a shiny one. These Legendaries will be encounterable in raids between 6pm and 7pm local time each day. Legendary Giants captured during Raid Hour will possess special moves, primarily charged attacks, with Regidrago being an exception as it will have the fast attack Dragon Breath. Additionally, the Ancients Recovered event will introduce three Max Battles, showcasing the Gigantamax forms of Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon. As always, these multiplayer battles can be accessed by interacting with Power Spots.

Starting soon, a new set of time-limited Pokemon GO research missions called “Ancients Recovered” will roll out. These missions provide players with the chance to obtain at least one of each Legendary Giant Pokemon. Completing all tasks within this event also rewards players with an intriguing option to make a secret choice, though Niantic hasn’t shared details about what this mysterious decision entails. The raid-focused Timed Research can be completed multiple times.

In addition, the event will introduce “Fleeting Legends Timed Research,” a paid promotion that offers an encounter with the Galarian variant of one of the Legendary Birds. Priced at $7.99, players can select which bird they’d like to meet during their research experience.

As a global gamer, I’m super excited to be part of the new Global Challenge presented by Ancients Recovered! Working together with fellow gamers worldwide, we can conquer this challenge. If we succeed, some fantastic bonuses will be unlocked and active until June 29, 2025 – the end of GO Fest 2025. These perks include quicker Party Power charging during raids and a higher catch rate with Premier Balls post-raids. Can’t wait to team up and make this happen!
