In simple terms, the Pokemon Trading Card Game (PTCG) has unveiled cards for Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus, which are set to be released soon. These cards will belong to Black Bolt and White Flare, the upcoming sets that are part of the seventh expansion during the Scarlet and Violet era in the Pokemon Trading Card Game.
The attention will shift towards Unova region, showcasing 156 newly-introduced Pokémon from Gen 5. This exclusive Japanese release will include cards with secret versions that are tier Art Rare (AR) or higher. Additionally, there’s a new rarity called BWR (BW Rare), which is a special Holofoil card featuring an intricate pattern and a Pokémon illustration against a distinctive background color. To give a sneak peek of what’s coming up, some fresh cards have been unveiled.
In a recent reveal at Poke Beach, we get a glimpse of the Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus cards from the Black Bolt and White Flare collections. These three Legendary Pokemon from Unova have been given standard cards featuring art by Nisota Niso (for Tornadus), hncl (Thundurus), and Kasumasa Yasukuni (Landorus). Fans of Pokemon will find the Tornadus card in White Flare, whereas Thundurus will be available in Black Bolt. Additionally, each Pokemon has received an Art Rare variant with illustrations by Kouki Saitou (Tornadus), Anesaki Dynamic (Thundurus), and Sie Nanahara (Landorous). These AR cards are set to have the same availability; Thundurus will appear in White Flare, while Landorus and Tornadus can be found in Black Bolt.
Upcoming Pokemon TCG Set Will Have Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus Cards
On June 6th, Black Bolt and White Flare will make their debut, offering collectors more than 172 cards to gather. Each booster box will contain 20 packs, available in two versions: the standard pack, including seven cards with at least two Holofoil cards, and the premium one, featuring 35 cards and guaranteed to have an AR rarity or higher. Following this release will be The Glory of Team Rocket, the latest Pokemon TCG set that was launched in Japan on April 18th, introducing new cards centered around the franchise’s famous antagonists.
As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled about the upcoming releases in the Pokemon TCG! After Black Bolt and White Flare, the next set in Japan is all about Mega Evolutions, titled Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia. These expansions are expected to hit stores as a single set, introducing over 126 fresh cards to our decks. On the other side of the globe, fellow trainers are eagerly awaiting the Destined Rivals expansion, which lands on May 30th, bringing a whopping 240 new cards to our collections!
