LEGO Fan Builds Incredible ‘Working’ Toaster

A LEGO enthusiast recently built a fully functional toaster and shared the design with the LEGO community. It’s common for LEGO fans to create their own unique builds, and sometimes these impressive designs are even turned into official LEGO sets through the LEGO Ideas program.

I’m always amazed by LEGO’s commitment to its fans! It’s incredible that they not only have their own designers, but also give talented builders like us a chance to create official sets. Through the LEGO Ideas program, you can share your creations and if it gets 10,000 votes from the community, LEGO actually considers turning it into a real product! It’s led to some amazing sets over the years, and the best part is, the creator even gets a share of the profits. I recently saw a design that I think has a really good chance of getting approved – it’s fantastic and I’m excited to see if it makes the cut!

LEGO Fan’s Incredible Toaster Design

A Reddit user named BricksOnSet recently shared a clever LEGO toaster they built. Although it can’t actually toast bread, it perfectly mimics the process. A video shows how a lever lowers to pull plastic bread slices into the ‘oven.’ When the lever is released, the bread pops back up, appearing darker as if toasted. The creator cleverly designed the bread itself to look toasted on one side, and the toaster spins it around to show the ‘toasted’ side. Beyond the functionality, the toaster’s design is spot-on, with a cool, retro blue and gray color scheme. BricksOnSet even added a LEGO cord and plug made from LEGO swords!

A LEGO toaster design has become a hit on Reddit, receiving over 14,000 upvotes. The creator, BricksOnSet, shared that the design first appeared at Atlanta BrickCon, where it even won a Master Brick award. They also explained how the LEGO toaster functions. Many commenters encouraged BricksOnSet to submit the design to the LEGO Ideas program, and thankfully, the builder plans to do so. BricksOnSet is a frequent poster of their LEGO creations on Reddit, and this toaster is just one of their many impressive builds.

More Official LEGO Products Are on the Way Soon

Although it’s uncertain if the toaster LEGO design will become a real product, LEGO has plenty of other exciting releases planned for 2026. In March, expect new sets based on popular franchises like Batman and Star Wars, as well as models inspired by the upcoming movie, Project Hail Mary, and other themes. Plus, LEGO Pokemon sets are launching on February 27th. Despite some discussion around these sets, they’re significant as the first to come from the new LEGO and Pokemon Company partnership.

We can expect to see more amazing LEGO creations from talented builders like BricksOnSet in the future. Fans often design builds that are as impressive as official LEGO sets. A great example is the recent, highly detailed LEGO Godzilla created by a fan. It will be interesting to see if any of these fan-made designs are eventually released as official LEGO Ideas sets.
