Lego Horizon Adventures: Every Playable Character, Ranked

As a dedicated fan of the Horizon series, I must say that Lego Horizon Adventures has surpassed my wildest expectations, despite a few minor hiccups along the way. The game has taken the beloved characters from the Horizon universe and transformed them into adorable, slightly goofy versions of themselves – a delightful twist that only adds to the charm of the series.

The newly launched game titled “Lego Horizon Adventures” has received praises from fans, though it has its share of general issues. This latest addition to the Lego game series marks a shift from the quirky, almost satirical renditions of the Star Wars sagas, to more accurate representations of the original content.

In anticipation for the third installment in the Horizon series, fans are eagerly awaiting any fresh insights into this world. However, amidst a multitude of playable characters within the game, all significant figures in the Horizon universe, which one emerges as the standout character? These characters are distinct due to just one or two characteristics, so their ranking is based solely on how enjoyable their unique Lego weapon type is to use.

4 Varl

A War Chief’s Son Determined To Prove Himself

  • Weapon: Spear
  • Playstyle: Melee focused, agile

In Horizon, my tale echoes with the harsh tones of bloodshed and vengeance, exploring themes like regret and carrying on the legacy left by those who came before. Once upon a time, I was locked in a fierce rivalry with my sister, Vala, for our mother’s affection – a fearsome war chief whose legend still lingers today. As a Brave, and later when I lost my beloved sister to senseless violence, I continued this battle for my mother’s recognition, but now it’s not just about us two siblings anymore; it’s also about preserving Vala’s legacy.

In this game, each playable character stands out due to their unique combat styles. While many players might enjoy Varl, it’s important to note that his spear is the most straightforward weapon in the game, offering less range and area of effect compared to other weapons. This weapon primarily contributes to speed, but the game itself doesn’t heavily punish slow movement. Despite this, given his popularity among fans, Varl is expected to continue attracting attention.

3 Erend

A Rowdy Comedic Character With Surprising Depth

  • Weapon: Hammer
  • Playstyle: Melee-focused, heavy attacks

In the game “Forbidden West,” branching out Erend’s story from Aloy’s exclusively allowed players to delve deeper into his character, revealing him as a likeable figure despite his excessive drinking habit. Many fans appreciated this expansion, as it provided a chance to understand Erend better. His lively personality makes him more suited for the light-hearted nature of this game, allowing players to embrace his zaniness without any undertones of hidden manipulation or masking his wounds from a painful childhood marked by an abusive father.

Looking forward to the possibility that Horizon’s next chapter offers more opportunities for this character to take center stage, it’s likely that players will be thrilled to see Erend and his massive hammer, a truly satisfying weapon to wield in this game, as selectable characters in this upcoming release.

2 Aloy

The Iconic Lead Herself

  • Weapon: Bow and Arrows
  • Playstyle: Ranged focus, agile

In the Horizon series, players experience the bizarre, disorderly, and frequently alarming universe of these games primarily through the perspective of the main character, Aloy. A formidable hunter with unmatched power and expertise, Aloy has honed her skills under the guidance of her father, Rost. In Lego Horizon Adventures, she is the principal figure of interest. Even when players opt for a different character in a single-player level, it’s Aloy who appears in cutscenes. The enduring appeal of both Forbidden West and Zero Dawn among fans and creators alike can be attributed to Aloy’s adventure and the emotional bond people have formed with her and the world she inhabits.

In a LEGO game, her bow and arrow might not be your typical weapon, but it moves flawlessly and provides a satisfying feel, with a strong impact on opponents and an unexpected versatility for maneuvering or environmental assaults. Just like in the original universe, Aloy is adept with this bow in the LEGO realm, and fans are eager to utilize this character as much as they do in non-LEGO titles.

1 Teersa

A Wise Mentor And Guide For The Nora Tribe

  • Weapon: Bombs
  • Playstyle: Ranged focus, AoE attacks

A kind and compassionate ruler who seeks only the safety of her tribe, Teersa is the person who guides the Nora Tribe – or one of them, at least. She’s arguably the High Matriarch who gets the most screen time and has shown to care deeply about Aloy and her quests over the two games. So what puts her in the top spot on this list, over even the Lego version of the protagonist herself? Is it her characterization in Lego form? The insight it lends into her non-Lego self?

In this game, Teresa provides a particularly therapeutic version of regular gameplay as her weapon isn’t just close-range or long-range; instead, she uses explosives in the form of blocks, and it feels incredibly rewarding to hurl these bombs across the map.
