LEGO regularly releases sets based on popular franchises like Harry Potter, Marvel, and DC. However, 2026 will bring something new – LEGO’s largest partnership to date is scheduled to begin then.
Gamers have been eagerly awaiting a LEGO partnership like this, and LEGO is pulling out all the stops for their first release. They have big plans for this collaboration, and the first LEGO sets are expected to be available soon.
LEGO Pokemon Sets Hit in 2026 with Massive Rollout
In 2026, LEGO and Pokémon are launching a major partnership – one of LEGO’s biggest collaborations yet. LEGO has previously created sets based on Nintendo properties like Mario and The Legend of Zelda, but Pokémon is likely their most popular and sought-after franchise, considering its success with the company that also makes the Switch 2.
This LEGO and Pokémon collaboration is expected to be huge – potentially one of LEGO’s biggest partnerships yet. Pokémon consistently drives massive sales across all its products, from trading cards and plush toys to mobile games, and every collaboration seems to be a success. We anticipate LEGO will follow suit.
LEGO and Pokémon aren’t starting small in 2026 – reports suggest a large-scale launch is already in the works. This timing makes sense because 2026 marks Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, and LEGO and Nintendo probably want to capitalize on all the excitement surrounding the brand.
The LEGO and Pokémon collaboration is expected to begin in early 2026 with a few initial sets. These will include an affordable Pikachu-themed set and a Charizard set. Following these, a larger, more expensive set featuring the original Pokémon Red/Blue starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle) and their evolved forms is rumored to be planned. Later in the summer, many more sets will be released, some of which will be interactive and connect to a mobile app, similar to the LEGO Super Mario line.
As a huge LEGO fan, I’ve been hearing rumors about another Legend of Zelda set coming out this year – maybe even based on Ocarina of Time! But honestly, this Pokémon collaboration is way bigger news. When the first pictures leaked and it looked like LEGO was just doing Pikachu and Charizard, I figured they were playing it safe. But then more leaks showed that LEGO and Pokémon were really going all out with a ton of different sets and something really interactive, which is awesome!
What to Expect from LEGO and Pokemon’s Collaboration in 2026
I’m not a huge fan of LEGO sets that require a lot of action, but the designs themselves are always great, and I’m excited to see what LEGO does with Pokemon. Recently, LEGO sets have really impressed me with their detail and creativity – the Game Boy set is full of hidden surprises, and the Stranger Things Creel House is a really cool, interactive build. LEGO Pokemon has so much potential, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the new sets.
The LEGO and Pokémon collaboration is exciting news for fans, but there’s much more to come this year! It’s Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, and over the next 12 months, there will be plenty of celebrations and announcements. New trading card game sets, starting with Ascended Heroes this month, are planned. Pokémon is also teaming up with McDonald’s for Happy Meal promotions, and Adidas is creating a special Mewtwo sneaker. Plus, fans are anticipating the reveal of Pokémon Generation 10 this year, with a possible release before the end of 2026.
This year is shaping up to be fantastic for Pokémon fans, and I’m especially excited about the upcoming card sets. There seems to be a great variety planned, offering something for all collectors. While I’m a little worried about how much they might cost, I’m incredibly enthusiastic overall!
